“A Wonderful Gem Hidden in Habarana”

It was our first accommodation in Sri Lanka. We came directly from the airport of Colombo by a private transportation provided by the hotel (paid apart with good price and good driver). The place is a wonderful gem hidden in Habarana close to the town in a few minutes in tuk tuk and also close to important touristic point BUT surrounded by nature. There were monkeys in the place, butterflies, rabbits, also they told us in the night elephants sometimes appear to eat their gardens. The place is perfect and very high quality detailed accommodation in comparison with Sri Lanka’s standards. Their owners are truly good people, all of the workers are well educated and always with a smile, you easily are happy and relaxed here.

The family are so welcoming and the animals and beauty of this place are amazing . The food was delicious and eating looking out at the views and train line was a wonderful experience.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Kaushi volunteered to take us for a walk through the paddy fields and introduced us to the station master at the local railway station. A real throwback.

Lovely place to stay , staff were very exceptional always service with a smile , great location to visit tourist attractions, the breakfast was very good ,and we stayed and had food in the train hut for one evening which I highly recommend

Beautiful location where you are immersed in nature. Comfortable and clean rooms with everything you need. The staff were lovely and really cared about their guests and the environment with a passion and respect for nature that was admirable. Totally recommend this beautiful place ❤️

“Outstanding, tranquil nature and wonderful team with great ethics”

I can’t say enough about how wonderful this property is . The welcome is outstanding and the hosts Kaushi and Samitha are so kind and helpful . We were taken on a walk through the rice fields and surrounding area They organised an elephant safari, again excellent. The villa is set in a jungle setting with wildlife all around frogs, monkeys, elephants, monitor lizards, birds and squirrels everywhere around the property. It’s also by the quaint station and you can get a train on the doorstep. Food is outstanding the breakfast the best we have had anywhere on our trip around Sri Lanka The boys serving food Kavidu and Suresh are wonderful and doing so well practicing their English !

Everything! A perfect relaxing in nature place to stay. Samitha and Kaushi are incredibly lovely and kind hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We loved every Inute of our 3 night stay and would return in a heartbeat!

“A haven with the utmost caring hosts”

What to say? Samitha & Kaushi were the utmost hosts. They have created a haven with comfortable cabins in a lush green garden not far from the town centre (tuk tuk arranged easily). Great breakfast. Dinner on offer. They can arrange drivers and safaris (recommend their local guides who are patient and respectful of the elephants). They have a strong ethical approach to employing young people and caring for the environment. We enjoyed their company and surroundings very much. Thanks to them and we wish them well carrying on the great work. We highly recommend a stay here!

“Super friendly, defintely want to go back”

Family owned Restaurant with amazing food close by Quiet green space with plenty mango tress and monkeys We stayed a few nights during storm Ditwa: It rained like crazy but the family looked after us perfectly. Love they are employing and training local people to support the business rooms super comfortable to stay and relax

Location in a calm and cozy environment with potential visits of monkeys, peacocks and elephants. The owners take care with attention to details and great care for kids and are attentive to whatever is needed. Samitha is an enthusiastic and kind person that shared fascinating insides about local culture. Kaushis food in the attached restaurant was delicious and he took great care of all our dietary restrictions. The service and attitude were outstanding and the surroundings charming. The rooms itself had a good standard for the price.

Villa Bissa is the place you should book if you are planning to spend one or more nights around Habarana, no doubts! Lovely and clean accommodation in the middle of the nature, great value for money and kindest host ever. In the nearby restaurant you can enjoy a very tasty breakfast and dinner. Super recommended!

“One of the most memorable places we've stayed, with a quaint train station nearby.”

This was the first place we stayed on our family holiday in Sri Lanka. We were so happy there! The hosts are incredibly warm and friendly, they shared stories with us about their culture and country and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. They were so wonderful with our two kids aged 3 and 5, who still talk about them! The swimming pool was fantastic and the visiting monkeys and nearby railway line were a bonus. The on site restaurant serves fantastic food.

“Perfect”

We immediately felt welkom.The homestay has a lovely, family atmosphere and is surrounded by nature — we even spotted monkeys in the garden! Her husband is a wonderful cook, and breakfast was a delightful surprise every morning. We stayed for four nights and found the location perfect for exploring the area. We did all our trips by tuk-tuk, which made it even more enjoyable.

“Back to nature”

We loved our time at Bissa Villa, the rooms are well spaced and you really feel part of the landscape. We had bats nesting on our patio and watched monkeys capering about whilst floating in the pool. The hosts were very kind and went out of their way to make us feel safe and comfortable (even getting up at 4 in the morning to make sure we weren't disturbed by elephants as we left to climb Sigiriya for sunrise). Would definitely recommend.

Best hosts ever!!!

We simply loved our stay at Bissa Villa, very charming place in nature, nice little villa, beautiful garden and swimming pool, very fresh food in the family restaurant (so delicious that we had dinner there everyday) also our hosts were the best to help us organize our visits in the surroundings, trip to Sigiriya, Dambulla, Safari in Minneriya... And most of all very kind people with whom it was always a pleasure to have a chat. We highly recommend !

Absolut fantastic guest house with very friendly couple who give you a warm welcome, and tell you all about the surroundings, elephants and everything you want to know about all kinds of religions in Sri Lanka. Evenings are exciting, area is full of monkeys who are very curious about Dutch literature, and can grap your book when you turn your back. When it turns dark, elephants may enter the beautiful garden to eat bamboo plants and can be dangerous. Our Son had his birthday there and Samira surpised us with a cake with fireflower and a stunning breakfast .
