“Secluded tropical stay with pool and great breakfast”

Great quiet location, close to centre with short walk to shops and restaurants but quiet and secluded with tropical feel. Nice room and bathroom with lovely garden and communal area. Very good pool which we used every day. Huge breakfast with enough to keep over for dinner. Very helpful and friendly staff and someone on site all the time.

Ishan and Mahesh were excellent hosts, friendly,helpful and always on hand for advice.location was great,and it has a fab pool. Breakfast was great for first couple of mornings. You can also eat evening meals at the property. We felt comfortable and at home at the property, and Mahesh is so helpful in organising local trips he is a hive of information.

Great and helpful staff. Well upkept premises, clean swimming pool. Tasty and abundant breakfast. We felt safe - staff constantly present. Town centre is easily walking distance.

Fabulous setting with lots of trees and an extraordinary breakfast. Located behind the town with a shortcut that takes you to the main street. Has a pool, though we didn't use it. Owner and staff are very helpful and have good information about buses that you cant get fro Google.

beautiful garden with jungle feeling around with nice pool, few mins walk to the centre for restaurants and shoppings, excellent position for trips to Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Minneriya safari, Sigirya and Dambulla, rich and very tasty breakfast, and the best at the end: incredible staff !!! Mahesh and his team, very open , friendly and very helpful , these people make Bangalawa resort the place which will give you unforgettable stay , I travel a lot around Asia, but I never experienced such attitude of staff towards its guests, highly reccomend this place, definitely will come again when I come to Sri Lanka next time

“Beautiful and peaceful place close to nature and the city centre”

Wonderful breakfast, great Sri Lankan food mixed with European. A little different every day. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Mahesh, the owner organised our pick-up from the airport, our elephant safari, a driver whenever we needed one and even took us on his daily morning walk where we observed lots of different birds and walked in the footsteps of some elephants that had been there a little while earlier. He made sure we had everything we needed and answered any question. Thanks again! Would definitely stay there again!

I really appreciated how well the air conditioning worked. Dining Delights & Pristine Pool For dinner, we were able to enjoy dishes from the owner's restaurant right on the hotel terrace – it was truly luxurious and delicious. The next morning, breakfast was equally impressive with such a wide variety that we couldn't even try everything, and it was all very tasty. The pool was kept perfectly clean by the staff, who cleared leaves daily. I wish I hadn't been injured so I could've taken a dip! Cleanliness & Comfort Our room was spotless, and it was fantastic not to find any insects inside or on the terrace. Plus, shampoo and soap amenities were provided. My stay was wonderful, and this is definitely the hotel I'll choose on my next visit to Sri Lanka. Thank you!

Great central location but still a rural outlook over jungle. Lovely clean room just as photos. Definitely recommend having breakfast.. Nice people, very welcoming and helpful. The resort is located in the nature, which means you have the possibility to experience and see different animals (especially birds). The pool and food was great. The owner organized a private bird watching tour at the Haparana lake, which was great and even for free. The owner even managed to organize 1st class tickets for a train ride from Kandy to Ella with short notice when everyone else failed to do so! The staff was extraordinary friendly and helpful! It is very rare to find a staff like this! We highly recommend this place and would be more than happy to return to this resort again.

“Amazing stay - staff and food were highlights!”

We had a great 2 night stay at the Bangalawa resort. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They helped arrange a safari for us and a Tuktuk driver to take us to Dambula and Sigiriya for a good price. Really enjoyed our stay. The gardens are beautiful and peaceful. It’s a bit of the main road so all you can here is the wildlife. The room is basic but comfortable and provides everything we needed. It felt like it was clean. The food is amazing. The breakfast was amazing both days and they even provided it later than normal when we went out for the safari early. Dinner from Curry and Rice was excellent. A great introduction to Sri Lankan food culture.
