“Simply AMAZING!”

What an amazing find! Josan Villa is a complex of 3 studio apartments, modern, clean, sea views, TV with Netflix, fridge, tea/coffee/kettle, great staff and right on the most stunning beach. John and his team are welcoming & friendly. There was a good choice for breakfast and we ate in the restaurant every night as the food was so good. Outside there are plenty of sun beds, chairs & umbrellas, a small plunge cooling off pool & shower. I would not hesitate to return. We had previously been staying in Weligama but didn’t like the area (busy, noisy & grubby beaches. we were so glad we decided to move on. A mere 8-10 miles west, Habaraduwa was a different world compared to Weligama. THANK YOU JOHN & THE TEAM! 👏🏻

“Great vegan food , lovely rooms and staff”

Fabulous large rooms with lovely sea view. Staff were excellent as was the owner John.. very helpful and welcoming. We had some fabulous vegan food for us every evening. Thanks to the chef Jagath and the team Sudarshana, Ishan, Sakun and Sahan who were all super friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.. highly recommend!

“Amazing hotel”

The hotel was amazing and rooms were huge. Big shout out to the owner, John, who has turned a piece of scrubland left after the tsunami of 2004 and turned it into a great hotel. Food was great and of course the views from the panoramic patio windows were breathtaking. Respect to you, John and all your staff. Ishan, Sahan, Sakum, Sudarshana and the Chef Jagath looked after us so well. We will return next year 🙏🙏

“Incredible hospitality, stunning ocean views, and some of the best food in Sri Lanka!”

We had a fantastic stay here. The owner is absolutely wonderful—so helpful, polite, and truly cares about his guests. The entire staff was equally nice and always ready to help with anything we needed. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach. Our room was spacious, spotless, and offered a stunning view of the ocean. Being able to hear the sound of the waves right from the room created such an incredible atmosphere. As for the food, I would give it a solid 5 (with a tiny minus!). The dinners were absolutely delicious and easily some of the best meals we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The only small downside was the breakfast, which was a bit monotonous, but the quality was still good. Highly recommended!

“If was okay”

We rented 3 rooms. The view and the rooms were beautiful although we didn’t have hot water in all of the rooms. The staff was amazing and very helpful all the way through. Good rating just for the staff and the rooms.

“Very relaxing”

A small personable hotel with 4 large comfortable rooms all with balcony overlooking a beautiful virtually deserted beach. Friendly and attentive staff. Very good food. I was content walking along the sandy beach or sitting on my balcony reading and watching (and listening to) the waves crashing into the beach. Although there is not much else to do or see in Habaraduwa, for those wanting a more adventurous time the bus and train station are just yards away and numerous tuk tuks are available for hire.

Best place ever!! Great location! Staffs are extremly kind and helpfull! They helped us to rent a motorbike, organise a tuk tuk trip to Koggala +Galle… ect! Next door is a shop , pharmacy, petrol station, great restaurant (who chance restaurant!)! Clean and beautiful Villa, amazing view!!! Long quiet sandy beach!!! Delicious breakfast!!! Gorgeous place!!!

The views and the location on the beach are absolutely unbelievable. Stuff friendly. One of those memorable accommodations, althought not 100% luxury.

“Book this if you need a little bit of luxury”

Josan Villa is right on a wide and generous white sandy beach that seems to stretch for miles in both directions. The waves are too high to actually swim in the ocean, though, so don't count on that. Just wade into the surf up to your waist, relax on a sunchair and then cool off in the little indoor dipping pool of the villa. The rooms are very modern. A dream come true if you like Bauhaus minimalism with polished concrete floors and Piet Mondrian paintings. John, the manager, is an old-school gentleman, helpful and accommodating. The beds are huge and comfortable. The TV and WiFi connection was the best we encountered in the southern half of the island. What wasn't ideal is that there are only sun shades, which don't keep the room dark once the sun rises so that can wake light sleepers up. And the place is right by the road so the traffic will start around the same time, like at 6 am.

“Excellent stay and we would choose this hotel again.”

The WIFI was the best that we experienced in Sri Lanka - fast and reliable. Our room was extremely large with a big balcony overlooking the beach. It also had a sofa and TV with Netflix subscription which we enjoyed. The hotel is opposite both the railway station and the bus station which was ideal for us in order to travel along the coast in both directions.

“Perfect Stay for couples, Feel-Good atmosphere, perfect beach”

Overall our stay was just beautiful! We stayed for 6 nights at the end of our Sri Lanka trip. We chose the hotel as we wanted one directly at the beach (check: The Hotel is right at the beach and you have a perfect Sea-view from every Hotel), which isn't too big (check: The hotel has 3 rooms total, so you're not just a number) and has at least the possibility to eat there (check: breakfast was included, dinner was optional but we ate there 4 times) John (the owner) and his crew is a really nice and helpful person, he even took us once to Galle, as he had something to do there so we hadn't have to take an Uber there. He was always there for a small chat (if you wanted, he was never intrusive). The boys who work for him are phenomenal! Always nice and accomodating! But also never too much. There was a menu for breakfast where you could choose between different things, in our opinon there is enough choice for a week. We even got asked the last day if we want a typical sri lankan breakfast (which we luckily had as it was really delicious!). What we have to add is, that John wasn't above to clean the beach every morning himself! We saw him cleaning some stuff which felt down from the trees or got blown at the beach infront of the hotel. This shows his passion for this hotel. Hopefully the hotel and the crew stays at is! We really can recommend a stay at Josan Villa! We will be staying there, if we come back to Sri Lanka at some point. Thanks John!

“A perfect spot to laze and enjoy the beautiful beach of Habaraduwa”

The location and beach was stunning. Only a small hotel but it felt like home. The staff were so attentive, sweet and kind.

It is very nicely located in front of the beach, nice view, very big room.
