The food is fantastic, the best I had up to that point in my month trip around China. The staff are super helpful for arranging day trips, and speak good English. The setup is very cool, somewhere between an art gallery and hotel. The staff went the extra mile, even cooking me a late snack when I arrived back late from a day trip.

Having travelled quite a bit around the world, this was genuinely one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. The property itself is breathtaking. Surrounded by stunning lake views, it is a destination in its own right. Even if you never left the grounds, simply looking out of the window or taking a walk around the beautifully maintained surroundings would make for a memorable stay. The location is excellent, with the magnificent Reed Flute Cave within easy walking distance. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the people. The team does far more than meet your needs – they anticipate them. Time and again, they thought of things before we did and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and special. The level of personalisation and genuine care we experienced was unlike anything we have encountered elsewhere. What made the stay so memorable was the human connection. By the time we left, we found ourselves genuinely missing them and talking about them in the days that followed. That has never happened to us at any other hotel. I never took so much time to write a review but I always read reviews before booking and don't want anyone to miss out on this hotel. I cannot imagine a hotel that could offer a more exceptional experience. It is a beautiful retreat for couples and solo travellers, while also providing families with something equally valuable: a warm, safe, and welcoming home away from home.

We returned from Yangshuo to stay a day or two in Guilin with my family: daughter of 5, mother-in-law, auntie-in-law, wife and me, and we stayed again at HeShe Lakeside resort. And it was amazing. The room, the view, the service. The food! Fantastic. The team once again looked after us; they helped us so much to get our transport working and organised. The team know what customer service means. I mean, is just a wonderful experience. Melody, Jin, Jen and the guy from the night shift are amazing people. They complement the property in many good, positive ways! Definitely, if coming back to Guilin, surely we will stay here. Very super very highly recommended.

A homely kind of resort with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are large and comfortable and well equipped. I highly recommend booking the room with the lake view. The courtyard has a picturesque view to have a meal.

If you're reading this and considering booking this hotel, please book now! This is the best place to stay in Guilin. The hotel looks like an art gallery, sophisticated yet very welcoming, making anyone feel welcome. The staff are extremely friendly and kind and spoke very good English (congratulations to them, as this is a great bonus for China where few people speak English...). A special thank you to Phoebe and Melody, they were so lovely!!! The room we stayed in was so beautiful, super clean and had a breathtaking view of the lake. We couldn't stop looking at it! It has a self-service laundry with free detergent, a great bonus for long-term travelers! Having a delicious breakfast on the terrace overlooking the mountains and the lake is like something out of a movie! The area around the hotel is absolutely wonderful, perfect for leisurely walks, an atmosphere of peace and harmony with nature. Really lovely hotel overlooking the lake. Super comfy bed too. We arrived very late (after midnight) and it was our first hotel on our China tour and our apps were not working. The very kind night porter overlooked our technical issues and found us our beds, telling us that we could sort out all our payments in the morning. Very hospitable. Breakfast was pretty good with lovely views of the water on the deck. Really sweet front-of-house team that sorted out tours etc. for us. Super clean too. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at the resort. Staff was super kind and available, the room was spacious and with an amazing view on the lake and the mountains. The room was nicely equipped and breakfast and dinner were great! We would love to come back!!

The lakeside view and the serene nature of the hotel. Not far from the city centre as well. We paid a bit more to get a better view, but it was worth it. The reception team have been extremely kind and helpful. Most of them spoke English so it was helpful to ask for advice regarding the area (eg activities) and support during the stay. Melody was exceptional throughout. She helped us with planning some of our activities and made us feel really at home. She even gave us food to go when we checked out. Thank you Guilin HeShe hotel team. You have all been very amazing.

Everything was exceptional from the beautiful views , very comfortable and useful bedrooms , great choice of western and Chinese breakfast . Great food 🍱 orders for dinner. Best massages. A special thanks to Qin and all the staff who helped us make this visit to Guilin a great experience.
