“understated luxury - a lovely hotel in a quiet location”
Lovely property in a quiet village which is close to Reims. The outside is very unassuming but once you get into the courtyard there are beautiful gardens and patio, and there's covered parking (with an EV charging point) in the barn. The room was enormous with high ceilings and very nicely finished and furnished, and the bed was huge !! Comfy pillows and a great nights sleep ! The staff were great and really helpful - check-in was a breeze, and breakfast was all arranged the day before to make things easier. Breakfast was superb - high quality items and nicely presented. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot - the place felt quite special and a treat - and we'll certainly stay there again

The property is beautiful. It has a lot of character and the grounds are very well maintained. The decor was very tasteful and modern. Our hostess Anais was very welcoming. Location was excellent, short car ride of 15 minutes to Reims. Breakfast we delicious! The village of Gueux is very charming.

Everything was great except for the staff, she was really not that nice to us. When we arrived she was not helpful at all, not even helping us with showing the rooms or giving any information about the facilities. The only thing she was pushing us to do was to say what we wanted for breakfast and just saying you have all the info in your emails.

Au Clos du Lac is so much more than just a place to stay on your travels. It has the warmth, comforts, and safety of home where all considerations of fine detail are so beautifully put together by the wonderful host, Anaïs. We are so pleased that we booked our stay at this exceptional Bed & Breakfast. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable. The breakfast was sensational everyday and far exceeded anything we have experienced on our travels! Just so delicious, nutritious, fresh and a great start to our day! Ohhhhh, and the home-made rhubarb jam is delectable. The bikes available for use are a wonderful touch that we enjoyed using daily to explore the area. We can't thank you enough Anaïs for your welcome, your care and all your hard work. We really appreciated our stay so much. I hope we can return here again someday. Tammy and Niko

Very peaceful with a lovely garden to enjoy . The most comfortable bed and pillows and luxurious bathroom. Sadly only staying a night en route from S France but would have like to have stay longer . Delicious breakfast . Very restful and welcoming
