I cannot praise this place highly enough. I hadn’t read an email properly and I misunderstood check-in. Reception immediately upgraded us and when we discovered that it had been my fault all along, would not accept any money. Anyway, thanks Gudvangen. Our room was lovely with a small kitchen, a veranda and knockout views. There were ample free hot drinks available, the shower was great and the bed comfortable. The hotel restaurant was about 50m away and it served good quality food. We did not have a breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. The area is absolutely stunning and in the evening when everyone has left it is a delight to walk around.

It was very well located close to the ferry. Clean and friendly staff.

We arrived after a days travel from Oslo, we loved the remoteness of the hotel and in winter season it was very quiet- just what we wanted. The chalet room was perfect with modern fixtures and a large comfortable bed.

I had booked two nights at the Budget Hotel, but was able to switch to a double room in the more modern Fjordtell close to the Fjord. I did not pay much on top and then staff was very friendly :)

The accommodation was clean and comfortable with excellent views from the window, near public transport and the laundry facilities were a bonus.

“Lovely village stay”

The 1st-floor room was clean and had a balcony with a view of the village and mountains behind. The shared bathrooms were clean. It was an easy walk to the restaurants, the Viking village, the pier where we got off the boat, and the bus stop on the highway to get the bus to Bergen. The message sent to us advised us to pick the key uo from a place prior to reaching the actual accommodation.

The hotel was disappointing – the facilities were lacking, the room was in poor condition, cleanliness was not up to standard, and staff support was unsatisfactory. Since Gudvangen has only a few accommodation options, this one is not worth choosing. In my opinion, a day trip is enough to visit the area, and I would not recommend staying overnight in Gudvangen.....Thank you

Location is good. The space is perfect.

The room was clean but a bit basic. Gudvangen is nice in the evening after the crowds have gone.
