“Great base for exploring Rincon De La Vieja region.”
The room was spacious and clean, good private bathroom. Good motel style accomodation. The owner is eccentric in the best way, the language barrier (us not knowing much Spanish him not knowing much English) didn’t seem to be an issue. Gave us heaps of information at check in about the national park, entrance fees, layout of the accomodation etc and was up for a conversation. Beautiful quiet location in amongst the rainforest, definitely need a hire car to get to/from the sites. Didn’t eat the breakfast on offer as we made our own but it looked great.

“Peaceful stay jungle view”
We spent two incredible nights at Pochote Lodge. What we really liked was the peace and complete immersion in the surrounding nature. We fell asleep every night to the sound of the rain and crickets, and in the morning we had breakfast in the beautiful open-air kitchen/common area facing the jungle. We spotted so many beautiful birds, including a few toucans! The family who runs it was amazing, very welcoming and friendly.

“This was an exceptional stay for us - we felt like we visited friends.”
Accomodation is located in a beautifully maintained garden with various species of plants. The owner was very nice and explained us where to go and what to see in the Rincon national park. They were very helpful to get our son from a sunburn.

“A beautiful start to our vacation”
Francisco and his wife Veronica are the most wonderful hosts. From the start, we felt incredibly welcomed and were treated like honoured guests. The breakfasts were fantastic and the freshly squeezed juice was the best we have had. The place is quite rustic and the pool is a natural pool (which we did not use as the weather was quite windy and cool when we were there). There are some small trails on the property where we saw lots of interesting wildlife and birds, including toucans and hummingbirds. A short distance up the road is an entrance to the national park where we were able to walk several times . We had access to two small kitchens and a full size fridge and there is a lovely lodge about 5 minutes down the road where we ate dinner two nights (Rinconcito Lodge).

Beautiful grounds, and exceptional host. Very friendly, comfortable, with a magnificent wood fire bbq and kitchen area. Cool off in the pool, enjoy the toucans from the indoor/outdoor kitchen.
