“Top place to stay in pretty Guanajuato!”

Flo and Rene’s beautiful property is perfectly situated for enjoying a stay in pretty Guanajuato. Perched on the side of one of the many hills surrounding the town, it’s an easy 10/15 minute walk to the bustling centre and a quick taxi ride back if you don’t fancy the uphill walk (like us!) Our huge room had an amazing view over the town and the enormous bed was really comfy. The adjacent sitting room had bottled water, tea and coffee available all day and their pool was a nice respite after walking in the heat of the day too. But the real reason you’d want to stay here (if the above is not enough to convince you ;-)) is the warm welcome you have from this sweet family who will accompany you over a delicious (different every day) freshly cooked Mexican breakfast (thanks to their local chef Leti) and give you invaluable tips about places to visit and what to do. It’s a real home from home and I wouldn’t hesitate to return if we come back to Guanajuato. (I’m also really glad we chose to stay here as opposed to the centre of town which can get very noisy)

Very nice hosts who gave us a lot of tips about what to do in the city and how to get there. The traditional and freshly cooked breakfast along with chatting with the hosts was also amazing and we learned a lot about the Mexican culture. “Just book it”

Honestly everything is perfect, amazing hosts that help you in every possible way, clean and big room, amazing breakfast, good WiFi. The place is pretty close to the city center but on the way back it is uphill, not a big deal at least for me. I would suggest everyone to choose Casa de Tillie.

It was wonderful to have Flo and Rene as our hosts. We had inspiring conversations over the breakfast table and delicious Mexican food. Our boys loved the two dogs. Thanks so much! The location is great.

“Excellent property with very nice hosts and a delicious breakfast. We'd stay again.”

We had a very enjoyable 3 day stay at Casa de Tillie. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The common area was well equipped with coffee maker, water, small fridge, microwave, comfortable seating and views of the city to die for. Breakfast each morning was a highlight. Delicious meals including fresh fruit, homemade granola, yogurt and a different main dish each day. The property is lovely and the lower patio with a small pool and hot tub are very nice. Rene and Flo were the perfect hosts and they and their family are lovely people. They know the city so well so were able to direct us to many restaurants and things to see and do. We had a terrific visit to Guanajuanto and to Casa de Tille. As an FYI - the house is located near the top of the hill so the walk to Centro is about a kilometer with a steep uphill climb. We love to walk so for us it was not a problem.

“Casa de Tillie”

Casa de Tillie was great. The owners, Flo and René, were exceptionally helpful in terms of logistics and recommendations, and moreover are super nice people. The B&B itself is large, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The breakfast - different every day and delicious each time - was excellent, and (importantly for me) the coffee was good, strong, and plentiful. Laundry facilities worked great and there's a nice pool/jacuzzi area that Flo and René were kind enough to open up for us at my son's request despite the weather being too chilly for a sane adult to want to use it. They provided plenty of recommendations and advice, both for sites and places to eat, and help in finding a driver to take us on the next leg of our trip, to Guadalajara. Maybe the bit that is most illustrative of how helpful I found them is that on the morning of our checkout the driver they had recommended texted me saying he wasn't feeling well and was looking for a replacement. Originally I'd have been pretty stressed/worried, but by then I'd communicated with him a lot and moreover implicitly trusted anyone who Flo and René had recommended to me. And indeed another driver was found and the drive was completed without a hitch. One thing to note is that the B&B is about a ten minute walk outside of the center, up a pretty steep hill with a decent amount of traffic. I'd consider walking up myself but with a child we took (ubiquitous and cheap) Ubers each time.

We had a fantastic stay! Flo and Rene are wonderful hosts who did everything to make our stay exceptional. They provided good recommendations and served delicious breakfasts. The place is beautiful, clean, and ideally located. We felt incredibly welcomed and would highly recommend it to everyone!

“A wonderful place to stay”

Rene is such a great host, so many thoughtful touches to the room and I always felt very looked after and at home which is so important as a solo female traveler. The breakfasts were delicious and he always had a lot of helpful tips on what to do and see while I was here. Would 100% come back and stay here again!

“A little gem looking down on central Guanajuato”

Amazing hospitality from the hosts (Rene, Flo & Tillie); nothing was too much trouble. We were given detailed information on how to get to places, the best restaurants to eat in, the best sites to visit etc. The views from our room, roof and the swimming pool were spectacular and breakfast each morning was amazing! The room was clean and spacious. We had access to two lounge areas and use of fridge and kitchen equipment. The pool is heated to a lovely temperature.

The beautiful view, clean room, comfortable bed and pillows, DELICIOUS homemade breakfast spread and the loveliest hosts ever in Flo and Rene. Casa de Tillie felt as cushy, private and comfortable as a hotel, but it also had the warmth of staying with friends or family. Flo and Rene were around to chat and give personal recommendations for places to eat or visit in Guanajuato, but we also had lots of time to enjoy the pool and take in the breathtaking views just on our own and play with their adorable dogs. The hotel is also just a short 10/15 min stroll into the centre of town so you can have the beautiful view and the convenience of being near town. Rene and Flo went above and beyond as hosts, even taking us to the bus station when our cab cancelled on us and we couldn’t get another in time! Thanks so much, and we look forward to our next visit :)

“Charming Guanajuato”

Flo and Rene are fantastic hosts. Breakfast is delicious and all you need, including yogurt, fruit, granola, pastry, rolls and eggs. Guava juice is so refreshing. Flo assists with planning your experience in Guanajuato. She knows where everything is! Wifi is excellent.

Casa de Tillie is a fabulous house with spectacular views over the town. The hosts, Flo and Renée are delightful and will do anything they can to ensure you have a good time. Communal breakfasts are delicious.

The hosts were very hospitable, making us most welcome from the outset. The property was perfectly situated away from the hubbub of the city but with a pleasant walk down to the centre. Breakfast was a pleasure with different hand-made Mexican dishes each day. We struggled at the end to book a taxi in time to get us to the bus station, and the hosts could not have been more helpful in securing one for us. We had a lovely stay and heartily recommend Casa de Tillie.

The hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and warm hearted. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and we learnt a lot about Mexico talking with them at the breakfast table. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to come back again. Rene and Flo are Hosts you can only wish for.

“Amazing stay - 10/10”

This was an all around 10/10 experience like you rarely find them. The rooms were excellent - large, very clean, very comfortable bed, private, and with amazing views. The location was great, close to the city center but not in the crowds/noise. The real selling factor was the owners and the experience they provided. They are extremely genuine, kind, and fun people. You will feel like you are there with friends. The breakfast every morning was truly excellent, and it was very fun having sort of a 'family style breakfast' every morning together with their family. I would 100% recommend booking Casa Tillie, it is easily one of the best places we have stayed in recent years. Excellent price to quality ratio, and the rental will only improve considering they just installed a pool on the day we left!

Excellent accommodation with a warm and hospitable family. The guest rooms are generous and are on a separate floor of the house, providing privacy. Everyday the Mexican breakfast is different and so delicious. Hosts are helpful with local tips and bookings. Highly recommended!
