“Horrific - racist host and very unsafe place for a female, scam”

I was checked in by a man who later turned out to be the owner’s brother. He was unable to lock the front door. I was told I could not use the washing machine without first obtaining permission from the owner, Joycelyn (who was not there.) The stove did not work and this was reported to both the owner via message and her brother. She did not respond. He came to assist, taking a considerable amount of time to get it working. When he left, he forgot his phone. I picked it up to return it, at which point the notifications flashed up showing messages from Joycelyn, who called me “dirty” for wanting to use the washing machine. The next morning, the brother unexpectedly came to my door very early and eventually left when I had shouted it was not convenient. He returned later but refused to leave, accosting me and forcing me to open the door while I was wearing only a towel. It was at that point that I reported the no hot water issue to him. He said he knew nothing. Later that second day, Joycelyn claimed to Booking.com that I was a no-show. I documented all the above in writing via Booking.com to ensure there was a written record, confirmed by them, that I had stayed at the property. This appeared to be a scam: payment was taken from me in cash, while simultaneously claiming to Booking.com that I had not shown up in order to receive double payment. That evening, at 9:30 pm, the brother came yet again to the door. He banged and banged on the door and called out for me. I consider it wholly inappropriate to send a male to see a solo female guest at night. I did not answer the door and totally ignored him, but I recorded the incident and reported it to Booking.com, who responded supportively. There was no justification for sending him again at such a late hour. What he intended to do is deeply concerning. Joycelyn then sent a series of nasty messages, culminating in her calling me an old white bitch. All of these are included as images in this review.

“Amazing views & a beautiful host!”

The photos do not do this property justice - it’s so cosy and beautiful. The bathroom is huge and so is the balcony, which gets sunlight all day long. Our host was the loveliest person ever, so welcoming and friendly and even brought us the most delicious food and drinks we’ve had during our time here!! We were overwhelmed with her generosity and it made our trip. Can’t recommend staying here enough. It’s about 10/15 min by car into Rodney Bay, which is completely doable.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment has everything that you need and more, with so many homely touches. It is clean, comfortable and has a big balcony with seats to look out at the lovely view. As well as this, host Joyce is extremely kind and caring. She surprised us with her delicious cooking and made us feel so welcomed and comfortable throughout. Would highly recommend staying here, we would definitely come back! Thank you, Joyce!

The location is very good, the quality of the building is solid, and the owner understands hospitality. You can see that she put a lot of thought into everything. Very close to public transport, clean and safe.

“This compact 5 star suite, in a very quiet neighbourhood was far more than we had expected.”

Exceptionally clean and well maintained first class accommodation. The owner went above board in her care throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble to ask for and she also surprised us with a local dish for lunch one day, as well as fruit on our arrival. The garden and mountain views were simply beautiful.
