“An old villa”

Host allowed us to do self check in. There is ample private parking space at the accommodation. Host helped us to reserve dinner at a nearby restaurant.

It was a suite with 2 bedrooms. However, one of the bedrooms does not have air con. The whole villa has a very old feel to it with old furnitures. Perhaps more suitable for guests who appreciate such deco. Going down half flight of steps to get to attached bathroom with slanted roof was not usual. The bathroom door opens at an awkward angle & there’s an old rocking chair in the bathroom. My couple friends who stayed in this double room didn’t feel very comfortable with it.

“Middle of nowhere with house cut into small rooms without as much as a lounge, let alone a breakfast”

The location is a disaster and there is no breakfast.

“A historic gem”

This Villa is a delightful surprise, a wrought-iron gate located on a village high street opens up to a stunning house, beautifully preserved complete with frescoes and a very large and lovely garden. Its history is with a leading academic Carlo Cantoni, who lived and died there and whose studies included philosophers such as Kant. Our room was huge with lovely original decorative details, nicely styled with drapes and a large bathroom with a very welcome jacuzzi after long travels. It is not a bed and breakfast but more of a residence though Giovanna, who is responsible for rescuing and restoring the building, is a wonderful host and was always at hand to meet and talk to us about the area, history and to make recommendations. It was a lovely stay and we would like to return.

“Very nice place in an old villa”

The Villa Cantoni is located in an old building in the center of the city. It is about 10 minutes by walk from the train station and near by a lot of good restaurant. Very big room and also the bathroom very big. Thank You to the staff for the nice stay. Really quiet place.

“Lovely transformed villa in rural village.”

Lovely old villa transformed into guesthouse. We had a top floor room under the roof, but still cool enough with the air conditioning (mid 30s C outside). Lovely garden, but, at the time of our stay, too many mosquitoes to take advantage of it. Host and hostess very pleasant and helpful. Nothing of major interest in the village, but easy access to Pavia and Certosa site.

“Excellent accommodation close to Milan”

The Villa Cantoni is an amazing accommodation. The location is perfect, close to Milan. Close to the highway, easy to reach it. The parking is safe, closed. The house is magnificent! The room was clean, the towels are snow-white. The bathroom is so large. The bed is comfortable. The GARDEN IS WONDERFUL with large trees, flowers! Great for a wedding ceremony. The check-in process went really well. There are some restaurants close to the hotel. There is kettle, tea and coffee in the room. I like this place very much!

“We are travelling the Via Francigena and our night here was one of the highlights of the trip.”

It’s a beautiful building, perfectly placed for those travelling the Via Francigena. Our bedroom was enormous and so comfortable and the garden beautiful and relaxing. Our host was so helpful - she allowed us to check in a bit early and gave us great advice about where to eat the next day in Pavia. A really special stay. We highly recommend!

The parcours

We had a beautiful clean and comfortable room. The garden was fantastic and very relaxing. We were on a pelgrim trip to Rome and staying at Villa Cantoni really made us feel rested and full of energy to continue our trip. Giovanna was a wonderful host.

We stayed here for one night for a nearby wedding. The room was large, the bed was comfy and it was acceptable for one night. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend this place though due to the difficulties with check in.

A very warm welcome, by extremely polite and helpful people, in a beautifully preserved villa with a peaceful garden. A true recommendation for people seeking to visit the region!
