Overview
The Hotel Residence enjoys a central yet quiet location in Grindelwald, only 5 minutes' walk from the Firstbahn cable car. It offers panoramic mountain views, free Wi-Fi and free parking. From the sunny terrace you can enjoy superb views of the Eiger North Face and you can ski right down to the backside of the hotel. All rooms and apartments in the Hotel Residence have a private bathroom, a TV and a safe and most of them have a balcony. The Hotel Residence also features a bar and a storage room for your skis. The main street of Grindelwald with many shops and restaurants is just 50 metres away from the Hotel Residence.

Visser who checked us in was hospitable and warm. The warmest of all the staffs. Location near grindewald first and the free parking was great.

The location is perfect. The owner welcomed us personally and is an extremely gracious host. The rooms are spacious with amazing mountain views. Breakfast was excellent.

Lovely place to stay in Grindelwald! Just a short bus ride to the hotel from the train station with luggage. Nice and warm and a lovely view from the room. Quiet and peaceful and the breakfast was great! All staff were very welcoming and kind. Tea/coffee was provided with a kettle and the beds were comfortable.

“All you see is mountains”
You get everything you want. A good size room with a large bed and a balcony overlooking the mountains right in front of you, including the Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch mountains. The room was simple but comfortable and you had all you need. it's a beautiful experience on the balcony with a bottle of red admiring the mountains towering over you. You felt the true charm of Switzerland.

Very quick elevator. Good location with a beautiful view if you are on the front. Free and plenty of parking right in front of the hotel, which is great. The rooms are fine and spacious, the carpet not the cleanest, and the bathroom needs some attention.

“Basic dated hotel clean but very old facilities”
This is a dated hotel with clean but very old facilities, hence the price being cheaper than other hotels in Grindelwald. The bathroom is ancient the carpet stained the safes do not work but the beds are ok and it is clean. So it’s fine as long as you have no expectations. Breakfast basic too.
