Overview
Castello Vicchiomaggio is a historic castle dating back to the 1400s. Just outside Greve, it produces and sells its own Chianti wine. It also features a swimming pool with views across Val di Greve valley. Rooms have an elegant and classic style with terracotta floors and wooden furniture. They all come with a sofa and a satellite TV. The private bathrooms are equipped with shower and toiletries. A buffet breakfast is available every morning. The restaurant serves traditional Tuscan cuisine in a Renaissance-style dining room with arched ceilings. The Vicchiomaggio provides free parking and free Wi-Fi in public areas. It is in the heart of the Chianti wine district, 5 minutes' drive from Greve in Chianti.

“Awesome location”
It is a unique experience to spend at least a night in this location. The room we stayed in was huge, clean and decorated with good taste, keeping the ancient atmosphere. It features a kitchenette in case of need. The infinity pool has breathtaking views and it's a perfect relaxation location.

“Perfect spot in Tuscany for wine and relaxation”
Stunning location, very easy to drive to/from and do day trips to towns nearby in the Chianti region. Staff were very friendly and the room was very spacious and clean. Our favourite part was the location and view from the outdoor restaurant and from the room.

“Beautiful stay”
The castle is built back in 1300 but surprisingly the interior is very well kept and the hotel room is very large. We had a lovely stay and had dinner at the historical dining hall. The staff are friendly and attentive. Food and wine is amazing, love the homemade pasta. When we left the property, our car broke down and we had to text the hotel for taxi hotlines. Sarah from the property helped us promptly and provided us with various taxi drivers contact. Appreciate the hospitality and all the small and attentive details from the staff and the property. Highly recommend.

“Amazing hotel!”
We had an amazing time at castello vicchiomaggio. The staff was extremely helpful and nice (they even helped us when our car broke down). Our room was very beautiful and clean. And we also had dinner at the restaurant multiple times, which we also really enjoyed! They even had vegan dinner options, which was amazing. The location is also amazing, very central in tuscany to discover the region. And the infinity pool is also amazing with the best view! We would 1000% recommend staying at this hotel!!

“Beautiful setting with quality accommodation”
Beautiful setting high up in Chianti hills looking down over the valley. Decor is lovely in the rooms, extremely comfortable bed and beautiful windows that incorporated mozzie netting and shutters that gave us total blackout in the bedroom. We had a large terrace attached to our room with loungers and table and chairs. We stayed in the annexe, where there was a large communal area, honesty bar and comfortable seating area plus large table and chairs for the use of guests (saved a walk to the castle for a drink). Plenty of other little seating areas dotted around the grounds. The lunchtime and evening meals were served al fresco on the terrace. Great service and food with a lovely view. During the evening small lights started to come on throughout the garden - it was so pretty. The pool area was generous and the pool was a good size infinity pool overlooking the valley. Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas, and pool towels and a bag provided in the room.
