Overview
Set in natural surroundings overlooking Lake Vättern and Visingsö Island, this hotel is 8 minutes’ drive from Gränna Harbour. It offers a summer terrace, free WiFi access and an à la carte restaurant serving traditional Swedish food. Most of Hotel Gyllene Uttern’s individually decorated rooms are located in the annex of the hotel. All have a TV and desk. Views of Lake Vättern can be enjoyed from most rooms. Restaurant Verandan is a member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs fine dining society. It uses fresh, local produce in its traditional dishes. Guests can enjoy lake views or sit by the fireplace. Gyllene Uttern’s staff can help arrange wine tasting, candy cane making and hot air balloon rides in the area. Boat trips to Visingsö Island can also be organised. There, visitors will find the castle ruins of Brahehus, Västanå and Visingsborg.

The lake view is amazing. Room is clean. Free parking. A lot of space and many slow and fast charging points. The most friendly hotel for EV.

“Nice place for a weekend or overnight stay”
Beautiful view of the lake and natural surrounding. Charming castle and historical interior with a rustic cozy vibe. It would be great to fence up an area in the nearby meadow so guests’ dogs can play together without leash. Happy and tired dogs behave more calmly, which as a result gives guests a better experience too.

“Best down to earth but excellent service in an affordable castle”
The best cozy stay on the road across Sweden to Stockholm or just to explore the views and walks along Vättern Staff is always super welcoming and service minded, the whole setups is very convenient and the main building gives some grandeur and a very nice breakfast view. All facilities are there including charging and sauna - and the are very dog friendly with dedicated rooms for guests with dogs, also for when dining/breakfast if the dog prefers to be with their family
