It’s an ideal one night stop, the hotel is tired but clean. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance but all will only accept cash. City tax also has to be paid in cash. Undercovered parking for my motorcycle

Smooth service during check in, breakfast and check out. Great mattress perfect for recovering after outdoor activities. The fridge for common use was an extra plus for someone who is road tripping and wants to keep food fresh.

The breakfast served was wonderful, with a fantastic spread being laid out for us. The room was comfortable and clean, and the view from our balcony was truly something to behold. A wonderful location and must visit!

Zum Franziskaner is situated in Grainau, a short distance from Zugspitze, which we visited the morning after our one night's stay. The room was a good size, clean and modern. The bed side table was equipped with a wireless charger built in which I have personally never seen before! Continental breakfast was lovely with fresh bread and hot drink pre-ordered when we arrived. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming! In autumn, the room was warm with the heating working well. Upon request, we were provided with a kettle, tea, and a hairdryer. Breakfast was simple European style, but enough to start the day. On a rainy day, they kindly lent us an umbrella. The location is convenient, with a bus stop, pizzerias, and coffee shops nearby.

I absolutely loved my stay there! Very cosy, it felt like home since the start. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Breakfast is delicious with traditional Bavarian bread! From the windows you can be surprised by stunning views to the Zugspitz! Wow! It’s very close to the Eibsee, offering breathtaking lake scenery! Grainau is truly charming with many restaurants, historic buildings, and the locals are very welcoming! The whole area is culturally rich, the landscape is perfect for hiking, with plenty of different activities to explore every day. Aw! I miss Grainau already! Looking forward to coming back! Great value for the money. A balcony with a mountain view, clean and quiet rooms, modest but good breakfast.

I booked last minute and was surprised by the very affordable price, which also included a breakfast. I just needed a room to stay for one night to visit the attractions without having to drive back home for 3 hrs the same day. The room perfectly matched the purpose. I had a tiny room in attic floor, bathroom was clean. My room had a small TV and a wifi l, which did not test, as i had a steong 5G signal on my mobile. They had a reserved parking space in front of the building. Breakfast was very good. Location was close (4-5min by car) to the Eibsee's parking and about 300 m away from the central square of the small town. The receptionist was very friendly.

The hotel is very nice and cozy. The location is just amazing! We were really close to the zugspitze seilbahn and the town of Grainau is really beautiful.

“A wonderful guesthouse to enjoy Eibsee & Zugspitze!”

The hosts are incredible and very attentive to make your stay as good as possible ! They offer big rooms with confortable beds and a very good breakfast. The location is only 10 mn away by car from the Eibsee lake and Zugspitze cable car & funicular. You can park your car in front of the guesthouse for easy access. Despite being on the main street, it's very silent.

“Worth of the money: great location, service and room.”

Breakfast buffet didn't hold the largest variety of items, but everything was fresh and tasty. The fact that we were asked in advance the bread preference was quite something. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the Finnish candies at reception was a great surprise for us Finns! The room was spacey enough for two, and the balcony had enough space to sit there to enjoy the scenery.

“Love this little classic gem in Grainau”

I've stayed here before and I will stay here again! The location is great, right around the corner of the Eibsee bus stop taking you to either Eibsee or Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The bus is even free if you stay at this hotel! When I arrived I was assigned a room with a slight disappointment (I was really hoping to stay in a room with a balcony), but the owner of the place didn't hesitate to change my room to accommodate my wish! The room is just nice and cozy and the bathroom is clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and very nice. They even gave me a pretzel to go when I checked out! Super friendly, super nice atmosphere. I absolutely loved it yet again.
