Set in the village of Grainau, this hotel is quietly located in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps. Berghotel Hammersbach spreads over 3 buildings and features a swimming pool, a sunbathing area and a spa area with 3 different saunas, steam bath and relax area. For a surcharge, guests can enjoy cosmetic treatments and massages. The elegant bedrooms come with cable TV, a desk, and a seating area. “Great vacation in Bavaria”
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff is super friendly and always happy to help, which made the experience even better. The location is also very good - it is well connected to Zugspitze, Eibsee, and Garmisch city, making it a great base for exploring the area. Breakfast was good as well, with plenty of choice and something for everyone. One thing worth mentioning is that the hotel consists of three buildings: the main building with the restaurant and main facilities, and two additional buildings. The hotel is also pet-friendly, which is a big plus.

Great hotel with traditional style and excellent location. By the mountain train it is easy to get to the Eibsee and Zugspitze. The restaurant on site offers great, tasty dishes. The staff is very kind and helpful.

Had a wonderful stay at Berghotel Hammersbach! The location is absolutely stunning—surrounded by mountains, rivers, and peaceful nature. Waking up to the sound of birds and flowing water was truly relaxing. The room was clean, cozy, and offered a beautiful view, making it perfect for a quiet getaway. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. It’s also a great base for exploring nearby attractions like the Zugspitze and Eibsee. Overall, a calm, scenic, and refreshing place to stay—I would definitely come back again.

“Good hotel close to the slopes”
Nice hotel close to ZUGSPITZE GARMISCH lower cable cars ~1km by foot, ~50m to the bus stop and ~100m to the train stop. Sauna is included in the accommodation price and possible catering in the hotel. Perfect location to live like in a village hotel close to the woods/springs and ski slopes. Good service, a room with a kitchen and a very good breakfast.

The hotel was great and the location though far away from the city centre is still very convenient since the train station and bus station was near the hotel. Breakfast was also good. Motif was a little outdated but being serviced by Rituals is a plus.

Liked clean and cozy rooms and other facilities. Liked beautiful location of the hotel with nice mountainous view. Though it was always shadowy. Pool was nice souna also. Brealfast was okay, normal. It has also a gym that is a big plus.

The hotel is in a great location for hikes, and close to the Eibsee lake and Zugspitze mountain. There is a great breakfast buffet which offers plenty of choice for all tastes. Loved the onsite pool and sauna, which were great to relax in after a long day of hiking.
