“Exceptional property in the heart of the Eastern Cape”

We had a truly wonderful stay at African Safari Lodge. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly, knowledgeable staff who had our entire programme perfectly organised. Although the property is rated as a 4-star lodge, it genuinely felt like we received 5-star treatment throughout our stay. This trip was especially meaningful as it was my fiancé and I’s engagement, and Hennie, Gift, and Elizabeth went above and beyond to help my partner execute the most incredible proposal. Their care, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made the experience unforgettable. We originally booked for one night but loved it so much that we extended our stay to two nights. We were fortunate to enjoy two amazing buffalo sightings on the river cruise, along with an abundance of birdlife and small buck. We will most definitely be back and highly recommend African Safari Lodge to anyone looking for a special, memorable experience.

I had a wonderful stay at this property. The views were absolutely stunning and made the experience even more special. The room was very beautiful, well-kept, and extremely comfortable. The food prepared by the chef was amazing; every meal was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The activities offered were also very enjoyable and added so much value to the stay. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable experience, and I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for comfort, great food, and beautiful surroundings.

Very remote, long 4 km gravel road, but an experience on its own with giraffes and other game on its way. Perfect relaxing view and very good dinner and breakfast. Very friendly staff with option to have laundry done. Thanks.

Stunning venue with beautiful views over the river. The suites are extremely comfortable. Dean the host, really goes out of his way to ensure you feel welcome.

We loved everything about our stay – the peaceful atmosphere, the beautiful views right from the bed, the private terrace, and the option to go canoeing. The lodge was spotless, well-maintained, and felt like the perfect mix of comfort and nature.

The venue is beautiful. The drive in is wild so if you’ve got a normal car it will be a bit bumpy, but you’ll spot game along the way. The staff are so friendly and lovely, they went out of their way.

Have you ever heard the sound of silence. It's priceless! It happened this past Saturday when I was left alone in the main lodge reading my John Grisham novel. I put it down for a bit and heard... nothing. That's my most cherished memory of our stat at African Safari, especially coming from the bustle of this busy lifestyle that we lead The staff were AMAZING! Dean, our host, was always close by to assist when needed. We had a braai Saturday evening. Dean arranged for our meat, spices, plates, and cutlery to be arranged neatly for us. He even started the fire for us!!! Abongile ( I think) our waiter for the other meals always a smile and served us impeccably. Don't get me started about the views. What a wow! The river and greenery just calmed me whenever I was on the verandah (which was a lot). The giraffes greeted us whenever we drove in. Warthog were a regular feature as well. Oh, and the river views! I definitely have to give them another mention. Thanks again, Dean and your staff, for an amazing time at your lodge. We're definitely going back!
