“Perfect scenic location for a short family trip to Normandy”

Beautiful property in a beautiful fairytale location. Comfortable beds, warm and cosy. Beautiful views from the windows. Couldn’t have been happier with this find.

“Ideal for staying on the eastern side of the historic D Day sites, lovely property”

Mary and I had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Pressoir de la Mare! The property was impeccably clean and very comfortable, we felt immediately at home. Our hosts, Sebastien was incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive; his hospitality and support when we misplaced the key went above and beyond, making our stay truly special. The location is ideal, a small quiet residential area with complete privacy with all practical conveniences nearby as the local shops and supermarkets are just a short drive away, making it easy to buy fresh produce and enjoy regional food. We delighted in tasting Normandy’s local specialties cheeses, cider and bread and cakes. Super U is less than 10 mins away for fresh bread and even open Sunday morning (Petrol station as well). Beyond comfort and food, what made our stay truly memorable was the proximity to history. We visited Pegasus Bridge and the Mémorial Pegasus, learning about the heroic airborne operation of 6 June 1944 and the pivotal role this bridge played in the Allied landings. We also explored other significant historic WWII‑era sites nearby, immersing ourselves in the powerful legacy of the D‑Day invasion which added real depth and meaning to our stay. Local beaches are about 15 mins away as well... though it was too cold for a swim. Staying at Pressoir de la Mare felt like the full Normandy experience: comfort, charm, local flavours. Mary and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Normandy, and we can’t wait to return - thank you Sebastien x

Spacious all around homely, quirky, comfortable, beds were exceptional big on my list. Had everything we needed. Just also wanted to stay that it was a very good price

This is a lovely barn/longere conversion that retains many original features crafted into functional modernity. The property is spacious, the upstairs particularly so with its two large bedrooms and bathroom. A further bathroom downstairs is an added bonus. When we stayed, the rambling roses in the back garden were in full bloom and it was a truly cathartic experience to sit and take in the silence which was only broken by the occasional amorous croaking from the frogs in the pond. Indeed, the quiet location ensures a really good night's sleep. The position of the house makes for easy motoring into Dozule for provisions, and one should not miss the short excursion to the coast at Cabourg for a bracing dip if the tide is high, or a stroll along the impressive esplanade to admire the bourgeisie villas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
