The couple running the hotel, who are well into their 70s, were very friendly, kind and attentive. Our room was spacious and contained charmingly painted furniture, the bathroom was clean, the beds and chairs were comfortable. The hotel restaurant is permanently closed and breakfast is no longer served, but you can still get a chilled beer and a kettle to make yourself a morning tea if you ask for it.

Reading the rest of the comments, I booked this on Value only. TBH it was clean and warm and not bad. The hotel is just quirky in kind of a nice way. The hotel is owned by a old couple who I think must be at the end of their time with the place. The lady was friendly in the morning, with a pigeon German/English happy Easter conversation that was friendly. The view from the Hotel over the forest is to die for.

“It feels like you've travelled back in time”
It is a cheaper hotel for that area - close to the Swiss and French borders. It's set in a beautiful countryside area. I enjoyed the antique furniture filling the place.
