It’s a beautiful cabin with a good bed, everthing clean and cozy. With the sound of frogs in the night and birds in the morning it’s wonderful to rest. A onsen is nearby where I met friendly locals. The owners of wood be good inn gave free tickets wich is a very nice gesture!

“I wish we stayed longer”

We loved this stop on our Kyushu road trip. The location, the design, the thoughtful amenities and features, the clear communication, the kind hosts, the friendly doggos, just how comfortable the beds are, and especially how clean it is. The property is wonderful, our kids—ages 9 and 12—LOVED having some freedom to wander the property, jump on the trampoline, and then explore the nearby neighbourhood! Our only regret is not staying longer. I'd love to come back and base ourselves here for several days or a week as there is so much to see and do.

“A relaxing retreat at Woodbegoodinn”

Woodbegoodinn was truly a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Ryoko warmly welcomed us upon arrival and cooked the most nutritious and comforting meals, using ingredients that were mostly grown in their farm (they also make their own miso, which is amazing). The cabin was cozy and built with intention. Beds and pillows were comfortable and we loved that there was a short forest trail, which was just a 3-4 minute walk away from the property. We felt truly relaxed and we wish we could stay longer!

Delightful rural retreat amidst paddy fields with comfortable modern amenities. Ruoko was attentive to our needs and very helpful. Wholesome, delicious breakfasts with eggs from her hens and fruits from her backyard ☺️There is a river running along the nearby forested area, great for walks.

Everything! Loved location of the house - surrounded by beautiful mountains but only 10-15min drive to the centre of Nichinan/surf spots. It beats staying in the city. The owners were wonderful - they were very helpful and knowledgeable with local information. Ryoko’s dinner and breakfast were beautifully crafted and so tasty. It’s very impressive that the funky cottage was built by the owner Harry - it’s spacious, clean and comfortable, everything we could ask for! We had the best holidays.

We are a family from Perth, Australia and this was our first time visiting beautiful Nichinan, Miyazaki - the whole trip was so magical! Thanks to our lovely hosts Ryoko and Harry who have made our stay so comfortable and even helped organise our luggage deliveries. The location is a beautiful countryside surrounded by a cedar wood forest and even has a local creek for the kids to explore! There were frogs everywhere which our kids loved and it was so nice to sleep and wake up to the beautiful sounds of nature. One night we were surprised to see some beautiful fireflies buzzing around so the kids loved catching and releasing them! The house was so beautifully built and designed using the local cedar, but with modern features and amenities - they even added a mud kitchen which our daughter loved! The place was so clean and the beds were so comfy and spacious - the upstairs bedroom was so cool! We had delicious dinners every night which were prepared so lovingly by Ryoko using organic ingredients - also everything about the place seemed so eco friendly, including the coffee! It was also fun having whisky sodas with Harry! There is a local onsen nearby and we even rode our bikes to the 7/11 for fun! If you want a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature then look no further! Just 90 minutes from Kagoshima Airport - and ask Harry if you want to go surfing!

I LOVED everything about this place!!! The BnB is gorgeous! Such a beautiful place to stay! Harry, the farmer, built it himself as well as the Japanese/American farm homestead. It is a beautiful place to relax in and children can run around the property safely so you feel like you can spend hours in this space and not have to be and about all the time. The wildlife is incredible here! On our walk around the property and down the track to the river we could spot so many frogs and crabs! The river is like it’s from a fairytale, with pebbles and fresh running water. Our kids caught shrimp, fish and crabs which they took back and made habitats for with containers from the mud kitchen. Oh I must mention the mud kitchen, which apart from being beautifully designed, kept the kids busy for hours. We could sit outside on the veranda, enjoy the nature and keep an eye on them. Ryoko cooked our breakfast and dinner for us which was absolutely beautiful food. The kids loved it too!! Highly recommend adding on breakfast and dinner!! Ryoko and Harry were both very accommodating and lovely, down to earth people (with great style and taste!). Harry gave us directions to the perfect small wave beach for our son to practice his surfing. There is an onsen very close by (10 minute walk), we went one a bit further away however and it was beautiful. This is a must stay in my opinion!

Very nice guesthouse in Nichinan. We stayed 5 days and then booked another 5 days because we liked it so much. Ryoko and Harry are the most friendly hosts and help you with all you need. It is perfectly located if you are surfing. The room is spacious, clean and very cozy with high ceilings. The bed is amazing.

A beautiful wooden house, calm and integrated into the nature and close to some great surfspots. The host family is very friendly and acommodating. Harry and Ryoko will make sure that you really enjoy your stay with them.

It was wonderful to stay at Wood be good inn. It was such a beautiful place to be. Highly recommend to stay there. The owner was very friendly and kind and spoke great English. The room was very clean and very comfortable bed with nice bedding. The building was cool, and the inside of the room was very stylish. I love the lighting and furniture that they put in the room. Around that accommodation , hot springs is 5 minutes walk , beautiful forest and creek also 5 minutes walk from Wood be good inn. The night sky was also amazing, so many stars I could see. Breakfast was so good, I ordered Japanese style, and the rice was that they grew an egg from the free-range egg from the thire farm and tasty salmon from Hokkaido. I will definitely come back again to stay. Thank you, Haru and Ryouko, I really enjoyed stay your place.
