Surrounded by century-old plane trees, Piges is a stone-built property offering traditional accommodation with wooden-beamed ceilings. Fantastic place by the river, rafting, canoeing and other activities nearby. Acheron river is amazing, a true wonder of nature. The hotel staff were very nice and friendly, catering to our every need.

“Loved Piges Hotel”
Great room with huge patio outside with view over the trees to the river. Breakfast was very good. Spiros and his dad were great. The river was 1 minute from the door.

“Recommended for a short stop”
The location is wonderful, just next to the river and the springs. The hike in the river is a great experience, we were really impressed. The apartment is modest and nothing extraordinary, but it perfectly matches the atmosphere of the forest mountains and the river. Great place to chilout and enjoy the beautiful nature that is surrounding you.

“Cool place with great possibilities to explore the river, also by hiking trails.”
The location is great, nice and cool in summer, even a bit chilly during the night in May. As the water of the river was still cold to wade through we hiked up to the old bridge. There is no map readily available but the hotel owner will explain how to get to the beginning of the trail, which from there onward is easily recognisable by the red marks. It's a steep climb of about 1 hour, after the first bridge (concrete) which you cross over the beautiful wild, clear turkoois waterfall, you'll reach the second, old bridge. You can continue much further but we didnt get further than that.
