The staff are wonderful. Professional but chilled at same time. Very accommodating, nothing too much trouble, which I totally appreciated given I had a birthday celebration there.

Great stay, excellent facilities, a lovely remote location stay.

An excellent stay. We enjoyed the Weka room, a good heater and the option for a bath with scented salts after our walk. While we appreciated the hot tub, the chlorine was a bit drying for our skin. The commercial kitchen was excellent, providing everything needed for coffee and meals, including ample fridge space. The wet boot cupboard was also very useful for our gear. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and a great 15km return hike to Flats Hut on the Routeburn Track one day, and Lake Sylvan for canopied covered well laid out trail through mostly a forest with beautiful mossy setting despite the rainy weather.

If I could give this property 11/10 I would. The location is beautiful (quite rural so you do need a car) and we loved the hot tub. There was also a great games room with a huge TV which had boardgames which was sooo cosy

Beautiful and peaceful location and excellent place to stay at the end of a multiday hike.

This was our second time visiting Kinloch. The location is fantastic, sited at the top of Lake Wakatipu with stunning views over the lake towards Glenorchy and the mountains behind it. The room was very comfortable (we had the same one as last time!) and clean. It had shared bathroom and shower facilities but these are two steps above what you might see at a backpackers and are very comfortable. The dining area is beautifully designed and the food is excellent if a bit pricey (sensibly reflecting the remoteness of the location). It is well set up for hikers finishing the Greenstone Caples track or the Routeburn, and about half the guests had hiking boots outside their doors. We would stay again if visiting Lake Wakatipu/Queenstown Lakes.

it's wild but no so wild. it is very suitable for those who want a bit wild vibe but not ok for camping. it sits on a just-nice-spot between a normal hotel or some camping facility. the food is super (well in new zealand everything tastes nicer)..

Sublime location, and friendly helpful staff at the restaurant. Other travellers were conscientious in the shared kitchen areas. Overall it was a pleasure to stay here, and the lodge provided a great access point to various attractions around the area. We hope to be back some time soon.
