What a lucky find this holiday home was, with genuine warmth and kindness. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic and welcoming place to stay. We were treated to delicious produce from the garden. The lovely family was always ready to help with travel plans, local recommendations, and practical advice. Their outstanding hospitality, generosity, and a beautiful setting made this a truly memorable stay.

We loved the hosts and the views. There was a little walk into town but we really enjoyed the walk as it gave us a flavour of the town and was gorgeous at dusk. We paid extra for breakfast and were very happy with it, it was very tasty and big!

The house owners are a very nice and friendly couple. They welcome us and and helped us alot. House is clean and comfortable. It's in a very calm and relaxing area. It', very close to the Gjyrokostra Castle, Bazaar and restaurants. We strongly recommend you to stay here.

A wonderful place with amazing hosts. Our children felt as if they were with their grandparents. They even helped us with a special tea for a cough, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. Incredible hospitality! Comfortable bed, great location – definitely worth more than 10 points

I stayed at Isaraj Guest House in Gjirokaster and it was an unforgettable experience. The couple who run the house are incredibly kind — truly warm, caring, and deeply human. From the very first moment, you feel at home, in a place that is simple, genuine, and peaceful. They take the time to explain everything, to share local tips, and to speak with real passion for their region. Every exchange is sincere and full of kindness. The breakfast is outstanding — made only with local or homegrown products, and prepared with great care. The rooms are very comfortable and the facilities spotless. We were even invited to try their homemade raki, shared by the owner during long and meaningful conversations. All of this in a quiet location, just slightly away from the busier areas — a true haven of authenticity and calm. A heartfelt thank you to this exceptional couple.

“Heartwarming stay in tranquil surroundings”

I had the most hospitable stay of my whole journey travelling the Balkan. The elderly was very welcoming, prepared an amazing breakfast according to my wishes in the evening and shared personal stories. The place was clean and totally satisfying. You have access to an amazing garden. Only the bathroom might need some renovation in the near future.

“Fantastic stay at an unbeatable price”

We had a fantastic stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room a good size with a new and modern en-suite. The owners were really sweet, friendly and accommodating and made us feel at home. The garden was great and so peaceful, a wonderful place to relax. We had breakfast one day and it was yummy. Another positive were the various sockets in the bedroom to charge stuff. Thank you!

“Most authentic hosts in Gjirokastra!”

The family was caring and lovely. We really enjoyed our stay with them. Please be aware that the streets in Gjirokastra are narrow, so that it's best to walk to the old town and castle. We recommend staying with them, when visiting Gjirokastra! Big thanks!

The owners were amazing, and kind hearted people, they cared for us a lot. The language barrier wasn't an issue thanks to google translate, and their daughter, who also helped a lot with recommendations for the sightseeing. The panorama from the terrace was beautiful, and the breakfast was super delicious. We had a wonderful time, and I also fell in love with the city. I hope I can come back in the future :))

“Homely and comfortable stay at the guest house”

I loved that the hosts were so attentive to our needs and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Although we could not speak a common language, we used Google translate to communicate and have long conversations. The breakfast (paid extra) was a huge spread and generously put together . The host constantly checked in with us to see if we needed anything. It felt more like home than a guest house. I will be recommending Isaraj Guest House to my friends and other fellow travellers.

“Wonderful people, pleasant surroundings and a comfortable home.”

Diana, and her parents, Barda and Brahos, were very heartful and hospitable people. We spent six days in their home, located in a quiet neighbourhood just outside the centre of Gjirokastra, with a stunning view over the mountains of the Drino Valley. There are many places to discover in the city as well as in its surroundings and Diana assisted us in every possible way to help us get around. We were also overjoyed by the traditional breakfast of Barda which was made from homegrown and local products. In the morning we would also sometimes drink a coffee together, or we would spent the evenings playing chess and having endless conversations. We truly felt we had becomepart of their family. If you are looking for an homestay experience, this will definitely be the right place to stay.

We only stayed there for one night but our hosts were really helpful and friendly. Such lovely people. We had an amazing breakfast in the garden made from local products. It was delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable. The air-conditioning working very well. Nothing to complain
