Incredible property opposite the castle of Gjirokaster! Slightly challenging to get to, however the Salaria house team send an easy to follow video to aid with getting there! The property itself is stunning and the family who own it are friendly and on hand to help with anything you need. The view from breakfast was amazing! We would definitely recommend!

Ran by a lovely family - parking available on a public street but plenty there, breakfast was lovely and amazing views from the room! The walk into the bazaar is down a hill but not far at all. Lovely place to stay and rooms are perfect for a short stay.

We stayed at Guest House Salaria during our trip to Gjirokastër, and honestly it became one of the most memorable parts of our journey in Albania. The house itself is beautiful and full of traditional character, giving a real feeling of local culture and history. Staying there felt much more personal and authentic than staying in a normal hotel.

You could say it’s a bit uphill and not the easiest place to find, but that’s part of the charm of Gjirokastër—and absolutely worth it. The house is incredibly cute and beautiful, with every detail telling its own story. It was such a unique experience to stay in a place filled with so much history. Everything about our stay was pleasant. The room was clean, cozy, and had a lovely view of Gjirokastër Castle. We especially enjoyed having breakfast and coffee on the terrace, which offers stunning views over the town and the surrounding mountains. Ada and the older lady working there were both so kind and welcoming—they made us feel completely at home. We also loved meeting Tobby the cat!

What a wonderful stay in Gjirokaster in the family home. Ada was such a wonderful host she collected us from town as we were not allowed to drive the roads With our hire car. She was great at communication and really flexible with us which was so lovely. Such a beautiful family home up with a gorgeous view of the city and castle. Spacious and comfortable room - easy walking distance to the old town. Highly recommend staying here with this family.

The views from here are amazing! The are for breakfast overlooking the mountains was spectacular. The room was comfortable and warm, and the host very sweet and helpful.

“Excellent location for exploring the city of Gjirokastër”

Getting to the guest house was super fun. Be ready for a challenge of steep roads and twists and turns. Our host had given us excellent directions beforehand and we were able to find the guest house. Parking was fine for our car. It was well worth climbing up into the old town... Our host was very welcoming. She explained about the building which has a really interesting history. The room was cosy and warm. There was an area where we were able to have our afternoon tea with an amazing view over the town and the castle fortress and then at night the view was spectacular. Our breakfast was really good and again with the added benefit of an amazing view.

Beautiful location and view from private terrace/balcony. Hosts were very sweet and the booking included a lovely homemade traditional breakfast. Rooms were very cozy and charming.

The room was cozy and very clean. The view from the balcony was incredible and having breakfast there was a huge plus-the breakfast was also great ❤️ definitely vfm accommodation, would definitely recommend.

It was unique experience, great view on a castle and mountains. Located on the hill but still close to the centre. House was renovated but kept the spirit of the old town. Great hosts and homemade traditional breakfast. Prepare to challenge your driving skills, because this building is on the very top of the town, but a view is totally worth it.
