This guesthouse is perfectly located in the heart of the city and features a beautiful terrace with stunning views. The property was cosy, charming, and very comfortable. The host was exceptionally welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast was excellent.

Tip top. A very pleasant surprise as we hadn't expected the guesthouse and the reception to be so special. The terrace on which we took our huge and varied breakfast had a 360º view of the town and the surrounding mountains. In all aspects, you can feel that the owners are on an insistent quest for excellence. It's not always easy to know where you are in Gjirokaster but as the guesthouse is at the top of the town, next to the bazaar and its mosque (with a high minaret), you can easily find your way.

Qëndrimi ynë ishte shumë i këndshëm. Lokacioni ishte perfekt, fiks në zemër të qytetit , çka na e bëri shumë të lehtë lëvizjen dhe vizitën e të gjitha vendeve kryesore pa pasur nevojë për transport. Çdo gjë ishte afër: restorante, kafene, markete dhe atraksionet turistike të qytetit. Dhoma ishte e pastër, komode dhe shumë e rregullt, ndërsa stafi tregoi mikpritje dhe gatishmëri gjatë gjithë qëndrimit. Ambienti kishte një atmosferë të ngrohtë dhe tradicionale që të bënte ta shijoje akoma më shumë eksperiencën në Gjirokastër. Do ta rekomandoja pa hezitim për këdo që kërkon një vend të rehatshëm dhe praktik për të qëndruar në zemër të qytetit.

“An ideal place to stay to enjoy Gjirokaster”

The location in the old part of Gjirokaster was perfect - just a short walk to the castle and the cafes and restaurants. The guesthouse was fabulous with an amazing roof terrace with views of the mountains, town and castle. The hosts were delightfully hospitable - they even drove us to the bus stop to catch a bus to Tirana. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Fab 👍

“Perfect, absolutely perfect.”

The location of the Alsara Guest House is perfect. Right in the centre of the Old Bazaar and very close to restaurants and bars. The breakfast, which we ate each morning on the sunny roof terrace with lovely views of the old town, is absolutely amazing. After eating the breakfast at Alsara Guest House you do not need to eat again until dinner. The rooms are bright and have everything you need for your stay. The beds are very comfortable and despite the central location it was quiet at night. There is heating and cooling in the room together with a mini fridge. The bathrooms are modern and spotlessly clean. Toiletries, hairdryer and slippers are provided. Our hosts at the guest house, Petros and Lola were so friendly and hospitable. Our every need was met. Petros even personally took us in his car to a local festival that was taking place a few km from the main town and to catch our bus at the end of our stay. We will definitely be returning to Alsara when we are next in Gjirokaster.

First of all, I want to say that everything was perfect. The room, the towels, and the linens were all very clean. The breakfast was the best we had in Albania. The owner family was very kind. Since we didn't have a car, they dropped us off at the bus station. I forgot my headphones at the hotel. They brought my headphones before the bus departed. Very considerate people. We're very glad we met them. If we come to Gjirokaster again, we will stay here again.
