We absolutely loved our stay there. This was our first stay at a Ryokan so we didn't fully know what to expect but everything was incredible, the staff, the room, the breakfast, the onsen, all of it. And especially the tatami beds and one of the reception staff members, whose name I unfortunately didn't get, but was so nice to us and even printed directions for us to get to the places we wanted to visit, even without us asking him to. A big thanks to everyone, they've done an amazing job at running this place. Beautiful location and scenery as well.

Quirky! There was a lot of memorabilia around as the hotel has a VERY long history. The staff were very welcoming and gave us coffee when we were early. They had a nice Onsen. The room was beautiful and massive with a big seating area. It was spotless.

The hotel manager Shigeru Sakuragi made our stay special. He arranged a knife making experience and Ukai cormorant fishing. Nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely traditional Japanese Inn, a large room which suited us all. Lots to do in the area including Gifu Castle and Squirrel village / cable car ride etc - would strongly recommend

“A great experience of real Japan as a tourist.”

This is an excellent hotel with a wonderful Onsen in the top floor that overlooks the city and the castle. The rooms are typically Japanese and the facilities are wonderful. We had a room facing the river and the view was amazing. The breakfast was a buffet with lots of Japanese food options and some Western options but it is honestly a great opportunity to try some of the freshly cooked Japanese dishes.
