Le Sloothaak is an excellent place to stay in Giethoorn, especially for families. The accommodation is fully furnished and equipped with high-quality facilities, including all essential utensils. It’s a very comfortable and welcoming place, particularly if you’re traveling with kids. The host, Rob, and his family were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout our stay. One of the highlights was renting a luxury sloop directly through the host, which made exploring the canals even more enjoyable. The property features three spacious bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to six people. It also includes a BBQ area for small gatherings, as well as a lovely lighted porch with a garden table and chairs. The seating area overlooking the canals adds a special charm to the experience. Everything was very clean and well-maintained, and Rob was always available to assist whenever needed. Highly recommended!

A new and modern holiday house with enough space for longer stays. Modern kitchen and bathroom with all you need. Washing machine available. The hosts arranged a small electrical boat at a very reasonable price for us to go around. Supermarket at 15 minutes walk or boat ride. Although you can find many more places with plenty waterways in the Netherlands, this location is unique due to its concentration of traditional houses in a small area with well kept gardens. Also the tourist facilities are good though prices are a bit higher than in other places. I really appreciated the hosts who are nice people and assisted us where needed. A very comfortable stay in a tiny historic town.

“A nice cottage in a fairytale village.”

Our cottage at De Sloothaak was placed at one of the canals. The cottage has every thing we could ask for. The toilet separated from the bathroom is perfect. The beds are really good. The private parking place is around 100 m from the cottage, it can not be in any other way because De Sloothaakis on a small island. The are some small trollys one can use to carry the luggage on. The hosts are very accommodating and helpful.

The holiday home at a great location and well equipped to host 5-6 people. Robb and his family are super friendly, provided a lot of information about places to visit around Giethoorn and it was also very easy to rent a boat and drive off directly from the home.

“A great spot for exploring the local nature reserves”

The house was very comfortable and well equipped in a lovely peaceful location. I particularly the appreciated the Senseo coffee machine & coffee that was provided for when we arrived. When we arrived we left our car in the conveniently reserved car park & headed off (without our luggage) on the "Binnenpad" over the canals to find the main reception of De Sloothaak and pick up the keys for our house. It's worth knowing that Rob provides big wheeled carts for your luggage making it very easy to bring everything from your car to your holiday home - so don't bother trying to carry everything over before you've picked up your keys.
