We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, beautifully furnished, and exceptionally clean. The private balcony with its stunning view directly over the water was a real highlight and made the stay even more special. The breakfast was excellent, offering a great variety of fresh and high-quality products. What impressed us most was the kindness and hospitality of the owners and staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere throughout the stay. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Giethoorn. Thank you for providing such a memorable experience. We would gladly return in the future.

“A must when visiting Giethoorn”

Felt like staying at a friend’s home Honestly, our stay at De Dames Van De Jonge made our whole trip. We were only here for one night, but it ended up being one of the nicest weekends we’ve had in a while, and most of that comes down to Gaby. She welcomed us like we’d known her for years. Offered us coffee the moment we walked in, sat down with a map, and gave us a proper rundown of where to go, what to skip, when the village gets quiet, all the small things only a local would know. None of it felt rehearsed. She just wanted us to enjoy our day. This isn’t really a hotel in the usual sense. It’s somebody’s home, and they let you stay there, and they’re really good at it. There’s history in the walls, the rooms are full of character, and you feel it the moment you step in. Our room looked out over the water at the back, completely peaceful. We loved that the hotel sits slightly outside the busy centre. It’s the prettier, quieter side of Giethoorn, and we kept thinking how lucky we were to have ended up here instead of in the middle of the tourist crowd. The dinner was something else. Don’t skip it. We almost ate elsewhere and we’re glad we didn’t. It was a proper meal, beautifully done, the kind of thing you remember. The staff are kind and attentive without ever being in your way. If you have a special request or need help with anything, it’s sorted before you’ve finished asking. If you’re going to Giethoorn, stay here. Don’t overthink it. It costs the same as any decent hotel and you get something completely different, somewhere you’ll actually remember. “A beautiful relaxing stay”

Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. It was like you were a member of the family, as this is a family run business. You could park right outside your room which was really helpful as 2 members of our party were disabled and couldn't walk too far. The food was out of this world and Gabriella the 3rd generation to run the hotel, is also a fabulous chef who cooks local food to Michelin star standard. Dinner and breakfast were incredible. There is also a cozy bar and terrace where you can enjoy a lovely daytime of evening drink. What a beautiful location, which is walking distance to old Giethoorn. Our rooms had a beautiful terrace on the water and everything you need for a relaxing stay.

“Great hotel, great location, great service!”

Excellent sumptuous breakfast and comfortable room with a real traditional Dutch "bedstee". From the hotel there's a lovely walk to view the bridges of Giethorn and also close to great restaurants and a great place to rent real wooden boats to explore Giethorn (and the stunning surroundings) via boat. An absolute must!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the hotel. The hotel comfort room was beautifully and smartly designed. The attached terrace was a true highlight. The food was outstanding, offering a fine-dining experience, with fresh, high quality ingredients that made every dish both flavourful and memorable. What made the stay even more special is the breathtaking surrounding natural scenery and the exceptionally welcoming host family. Gabriela and her father were hospitable, impressively well-educated and genuinely warm in building beautiful cross-cultural connections. The staff were very helpful, too. It was an exceptional experience indeed.

“Fantastic family run hotel”

Rustic hotel on the edge of the village. The box bed was comfortable but quirky! It is at the quieter and prettier end of the village. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was great both dinner and breakfast. We very much enjoyed the home brewed blond beer. We rented a boat from the hotel for 3 hours which was fabulous and a great way to see the village and nature reserve.

A family run hotel where the hosts were exceptionally welcoming and friendly and did their best to accommodate all our individual needs and our stay here has been the highlight of our 10 day driving holiday. The evening dinner and breakfast were delicious, beautifully presented and sourced from local producers. Boat hire being available at the hotel was an added bonus and we thoroughly enjoyed spending an afternoon exploring the beautiful waterways. Would definitely love to return and would have extended our stay if a room had been available..
