“Thoughtful design, great location, and one of the most sensible checkout policies I've come across”
The hotel occupies a converted noble house, and the architecture shows — high ceilings, generous proportions, rooms and bathrooms that are both spacious and well lit, and the project to modernize it was just brilliant. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Lovely inner garden for breakfast and drinks. The standout feature, though, is the late checkout policy: Pillows charges an hourly rate for extra hours, provided the room is available. This is a genuine differentiator — most hotels force you into an all-or-nothing choice, typically 50% of the daily rate regardless of how many hours you actually need. Fan for life because of this!

It was lovely but the tasting menu was VERY expensive. We were offered a glass of champagne and assumed that came free with the menu/flight of wines but discovered later we paid 20 euros per glass

“Luxurious base for a city break in Ghent.”
Exceptionally pleasant interior with good public spaces including a pleasant garden- lovely place to relax and have a drink. Feels newly refurbished. Our room was comfortable- we chose to pay for a room with balcony. Good bathroom and furniture. Fitted carpet rather than cold feeling bare floorboards. Quiet. We tried the bistro restaurant which was fine. Excellent reception staff who were unfailingly helpful. Location fine: easy stroll into centre and good cafe ( where we had our breakfast) very close and cosy restaurants too.

“Amazing hotel, will stay again next time we are in Ghent”
An amazing stay! I booked 3 grand rooms for 2 nights and on checkin was advised that they had upgraded all 3 rooms to suites. All staff were exceptionally friendly, the chocolates on arrival were absolutely delicious and breakfast was great. The entire hotel is gorgeous with a high end feel.

this is the best breakfast I have ever come down too! Exceptional choice on continental,hot, variety of breads and cakes. we ate in the evening at the hotel and staff were very friendly and again food was amazing and lots of attention to detail, will definitely be booking again. 😁
