Overview
This hotel is set at the Leie River in the centre of medieval Ghent, 500 metres from Saint Bavo Cathedral and a 2-minute walk from Veldstraat Shopping District. “An amazing place with amazing people!”
The location of the hotel is perfect, the decor is amazing. The rooms are superb, both in decoration and amenities. The most fantastic thing about this place are the staff. Everyone went out of their way to help when my wife broke her ankle, but Meritxell (sorry if the spelling is wrong) was the best! We will definitely return, once we're healed.

The hostess was super friendly and helpful, she gave us a free upgrade as well. The room had everything you expect, and the hotel provides all necessary information and help you need. It was clean, the bathroom big. She offered us breakfast and I was so happy I took it: it was very good, decent, large choice, excellent coffee and fresh juice. This hotel knows their business.

The staff , all of them, were utterly professional, kind and helpful to us. They helped us pick a restaurant for our son’s 18th birthday, which was perfect. They guided us to sights to see and our room was perfect for our group.

The location is very good - very close to the centre. We were two ppl and booked twin beds. Room was big and spacious and comfortable. Tea, coffee maker provided and a large bottle of water - all very welcome. Bathroom was large - had a seperate shower and a bath. Basic bathroom but clean and fine. Receptionist was very welcoming and carried up our bags - no lift at our side of this hotel - so that was very much apprecaited. Would recommend for a city break in Ghent

“Loved Hotel Onderberg, would definitely stay again.”
The hotel has some character to it, and rooms have their own personality. Huge bathrooms with good showers. Buffet breakfast was very fresh, plenty of choice and all delicious. Staff were super friendly and helpful (as was everyone we met in Ghent).

I loved the place. It has a old vintage look. The people at the reception are very very nice and helpful. They will guide for exact location to go and enjoy the city. I recommend it if you really want to enjoy a comfortable and peaceful stay at Gent!!
