Boutique hotel 1898 The Post offers accommodation in an iconic, historical building in the heart of Ghent. It is situated in the former post office. I think I may have found a place that I will dream of returning to from time to time in the future. The hotel itself is beautiful, but what made our stay truly special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. They assisted us with every question and request we had, always with a smile. As an example, although the official check-out time was 12:00, they kindly allowed us to stay until 1:00 PM, which was greatly appreciated. Small gestures like this made us feel truly welcome. Thank you for making our stay in Ghent such a memorable experience. We hope to come back one day.

“We regret that we only stayed here for one night!”
The room, and the entire hotel, felt like a museum, almost like stepping into a fairytale. It was very stylishly decorated, and the many thoughtfully added details gave it an unforgettable charm. The maze of corridors and staircases made everything feel unique and special. The room had large windows overlooking the square, which was wonderful. The breakfast was excellent. We truly wished we could have stayed longer in this place.

This is a beautiful place to stay! The old post office of Ghent has been exquisitely renovated to become a luxurious and memorable hotel which has a wonderful feel to it from the moment you enter. The reception staff are fabulous, made us feel very welcome and were happy to help with any questions and recommendations. Our room was absolutely lovely and tastefully decorated with beautiful furnishings and so many thoughtful touches (tea & coffee provisions, a yoga mat!, a board game to play if you were inclined to stay in, just to name a few). The bed is huge and comfortable with gorgeous linens and there are lovely towels and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast matches the quality of the rest of this wonderful hotel. A lot of effort has gone into making this a very special place and it has certainly paid off!

“Great hotel”
Booked The Post for a short break in Ghent and very pleased with it. Perfectly located for walking round the town. The room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. Great view of Saint Nicholas' Church across the square. The staff were fantastic - very helpful, friendly and efficient. Breakfast excellent.

Excellent Location right at the heart of Ghent, jaw dropping hotel building which looks like a palace, High ceiling rooms, staff was very friendly and helpful. It was my birthday and the hotel staff arranged a happy birthday balloon, fresh waffles and a lot of belgian chocolates in the room. Loved the gesture.

“The best hotel we’ve stayed in for many years”
The best hotel we’ve stayed in for many years (and we’ve stayed in plenty of 5-star grand hotels). The staff here are incredibly friendly – service is their top priority – simply perfect. The architecture and the rooms are also outstanding in every respect. Everything here is just right! The management and staff do an absolutely perfect job! Hats off to them!
