“Getaria is well worth a visit and the Saiaz Getaria hotel is fabulous”

The Saiaz is much better than a two-star hotel. Amazing old building, some rooms with magnificent views. Good bathroom, courteous staff.

The hotel is positioned in the centre of Getaria. Walking is the only way to move through the town. Be prepared for steep streets and plenty of steps, but this all adds to its attraction.

Nice location in the heart of Getaria. Our room was nicely decorated and the hotel itself had lots of character. We didn’t have a sea view room but there were amazing views from the first floor lounge and terrace. Nice reception staff. We chose not to have the 12 euro breakfast and found a little cafe serving ham and cheese toast.

Amazing view over a small surfing beach , when I saw from other pictures that the terrace overlooked the road I was a bit worried but it’s a small local beach road not a main one. Also the young Senegalese man at the desk was so welcoming and helpful , his English was excellent (as were probably the ten other languages he spoke …puts us to shame really). Our car battery died and the other desk manager drove his car up and helped us get it started.. those extras really make this a good place to stay!

“Incredible views, fantastic staff, wonderful place.”

The staff were amazing, especially the man who checked us in, Boba (i think this is how you spell it!), he was so helpful and and welcoming after a long ride. Then the view of the bay from the room was just incredible as was the selection of beers in the mini fridge. There was motorbike parking near by which was free.

The staff's warmth made us feel really welcome. The views from our room were really beautiful, especially the stunning sunset. The breakfast had a nice assortment with fresh fruit and freshly baked bread. My wife loved the freshly prepared coffee. The bathroom was not huge but the shower had more than enough space for "normal size Spaniards". Hot water starts running almost immediately. I liked the clever solution to avoid the minbar vibrations. The beautiful architecture of the building integrating the old and the new.
