Excellent location — just a few minutes’ walk from Nagoya Main Station. The room facilities were great, and everything was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious.

Just incredible. We booked the Western style bedroom space with half board (kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast in the on site restaurant) as a special occasion one night stay on our way to Takayama, as a family of four. The welcome was great and the room was spacious and clean. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and the staff laid out futons for our kids on the tatami. The stay included yukata and slippers for us to wear around the hotel grounds, our family really enjoyed this. There are 3 onsen to visit and each was wonderful, spread across 3 buildings with internal access. The meals were also delicious. Overall a really relaxing and rejuvenating stay!

The hotel has a very good location and the service is excellent. The room is in a traditional Japanese **ryokan-style**, which really gives you the feeling of a relaxing getaway. The room is well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, making the stay very comfortable. I also had the chance to try the **private onsen**, which was very convenient and relaxing. Everything was well prepared, so you can easily use it without needing to bring much with you. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options and everything was very delicious, although it can be a bit crowded at times. One thing I really liked was seeing many Japanese guests staying at the hotel as well—from elderly couples to younger groups of friends—which made the atmosphere feel very authentic and lively.

“Large Ryoken in a little town worthy of a visit.”

It was a suprise to have a minibus at the train station to take you to the Ryokan. Very definitely a traditional Japanese Ryokan - check in starts at 3pm and you have to wait in line to be checked in. We were the only westerners checking in and had to wait until they could find someone who spoke English to take us to our room. The onsen was nice but if you have tattooos you have to book a private bath. Meals were nice however make sure you get there at the times you are given. Breakfast especially can run out quickly of some things due to the number of people staying. Beautiful little garden in the lobby. Gero Onsen is a lovely little town and well worth a night or two. And you don't have to take the minibus as its only 5 min easy walk to the station.
