“It's always good to be back!”

This has turned out to be my favourite destination on Crete. The past few years I've kept returning for another stay a few times a year at Welcome Apartments. I just ended up here by chance in the first place. As another guest once told me, it feels as her second home. It's always good to be back at this lovely family run place, as well as taking a stroll down to the coast. To either go for a swim in the crystal clear water down at one of the sandy beaches, or to dine at one of the restaurants on the beach front or in the centre of the really charming fishing village named Georgioupolis. Which's a village where you find fishing boats surrounding the harbour on each side of the outlet of the river. As well baskets of flowers all around the village square, and massive old eucalyptus trees growing on nearly every street corner and have done so for generations. The hotel is set about a kilometer and a half up the hillside from where you can take in the views of the surrounding landscape with olive groves, and the many hills and mountains that you have as a backdrop. It's no secret that I've already booked my next stay for the early spring time of 2026, and I'm curious to see if the plans of making a new pool area has yet been put into action. I also enjoyed the current pool area very much. The rooms I've been staying in appear as tastefully decorated. As a guest I feel taken good care of, and the Welcome Apartments is also a good starting point for making day trips to towns nearby with an ideal location between Chania and Rethymnon. Even if you don't rent a car, or bring your own car from overseas, which some do, it's still possible to easily get to Georgioupolis by bus for a few euros, from larger towns such as Chania or Rethymnon. Once you arrive in Georgioupolis, the local taxi won't cost you a fortune to getting to the apartment, unless you do as me and walk on foot from the bus stop.

The location was stunning surrounded but mountains and beauty. The view from our balcony was stunning. Our room was clean and bright and comfortable. The pool was quiet and clean. We loved it.

The property is situated in an ideal location for the beauty of the area to see from the balconies. It’s quiet & peaceful, beautiful flowers & fruit trees shade the area with a stunning pool heated by the hot sun. A swing & seesaw for kiddies to play on too. Maria’s father is on site 24/7 so you feel ur rental is safe n secure. Clean sheets & towels & beach towels every 3/4 days provides along with shampoo, shower gel & hairdryer. Beautiful apartments.

The location was very nice, I was just disappointed as in the description and photos the views from inside the room looked beautiful however we were placed on the ground floor so our terrace overlooked the parking lot and from our room we did not have a seaview nor Mountain View as stated in the description. The room also looked much bigger in the photos and in the photo there were three windows however in our room there was only 1 small window. I booked this particular place due to beautiful views that it has, we just didn’t have it from our room. Also at night a lot of light came from our door from the hallway because the door wasn’t flush from the top nor the bottom and therefore there was a lot of light leakage from the outside. The bathroom was much smaller than shown in the pictures as well, while the double bed was two single beds pushed together.

Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and quiet. A wonderful stay. Close to restaurants, excellent food, We felt wonderful, my family and I, we will definitely come back.🤗

“A good choice for a short getaway”

The views were amazing, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were nice and helpful.

We stayed at Welcome Apts for 6 days. The rooms are beautiful and cozy—very clean and tidy. There are mugs and spoons in the room, so you can make coffee or tea. There’s also a balcony with a table and chairs, perfect for enjoying the gentle morning sun. Free parking is available right in front of the hotel, which is very convenient. The shower has good water pressure, although there’s no holder for the showerhead—which isn’t a big issue. Shampoo and shower gel are provided, along with two towels for indoor use and one towel per person for the pool or beach. There’s a TV, although we didn’t use it. There’s also a nice large wardrobe with hangers and shelves. The bed is big and comfortable, and there’s a small fridge in the room. The nearest town and beach are just a 5-minute drive away. The pool is open from 9 AM to 6 PM, great for cooling off and sunbathing on the loungers. Overall, it’s a wonderful hotel with kind and attentive hosts.

“Comfortable appartment in beautiful location”

Welcome Appartments are ideally situated close to Georgiopolis but very quiet, with lovely views of mountains behind and sea below. Very comfortable and well equipped, including for self catering. Super friendly and helpful owner Sifis and his daughter Maria. Ideal location for exploring Western Crete. Super week, even though too cool to use the pool and in mixed weather.

my ground flr apartment had 2 patios. one off the living room overlooking the parking and hillside beyond the road. the other off the bedroom overlooks the valley and mountains. decor is clean and modern. hot water in the shower and kitchen. parking right outside my door. proper clothes hangers, safe, pool towels provided. housekeeper was there at the property waiting for me to arrive, even though i was delayed for an hour due to ferry / traffic conditiions. checkout was simply leaving the key in the door. quick response from housekeeper to my requests.

Nice, modern appartment and very friendly hosts! Maria gave us many nice recommendations regarding day trips. Location is very good when you have a (rental) car. WiFi was way better then expected after we read other commands.

I gave the couple of stars as positives for the very clean towels and sheets, the daily change of bins and toilet paper, the friendliness of the person on site (Siffris), and the views from the terrace outside (at the back of the hotel). Everything else was a major disappointment. Maria (who people in previous reviews referred to as the 'owner' or Siffris' daughter) deferred responsibility and referred to some management that was invisible to us (who not once got in touch to address our situation, and responded only after Booking got involved), but in hindsight I think it was all a deceiving game, probably hoping that we would end up accepting the situation. Thankfully Booking support service stepped in and assisted us.
