“Fab Location, Clean, Just mins from Beach, Bars, Shops & Hourly Bus service to Chania & Rethimno”

Very close to local shops, car/bike/motor bike hire, tourist attractions, buses, and a train service that took you to a few interesting places locally (when I say ‘close’ I mean within a 10 to 15-minute walking distance). I took the ‘Talos Express’ train to Kournos Lake (€6), the waterfalls at Argyropolis (€15), and a wine and olive tour (€15). The train has many ‘stations’ on the way to Kournos Lake so you can get on and off along the way (it is ideal if you want to visit Georgioupoli just along the coast). There are many other trips run by the two operating train companies depending on the time of year. There were plenty of good taverners locally - and very reasonably priced. The beach was a 10 to 15-minute walk away (although you did have to cross quite a busy main road to get there). The swimming pool used exclusively for those staying at any of the apartments was excellent with plenty of sun beds, and the surrounding area was very well kept. There were cleaning staff working every day, and the rooms were kept spotlessly clean and tidy. There is a pool bar but it wasn’t manned when I was there - maybe because people hardly used it (?). This didn’t appear to be a problem though for any of the guests staying at the Diaz as those who wanted a drink brought their own (cheaper, I suspect, anyway). The shower room had hidden vents in the windows that saved you having to open and close windows to let any excess steam out. Each apartment had a 2-burner electric stove and a refrigerator with enough cutlery etc. for 2 people (it is not really suitable though for people who want to do their own cooking on a daily basis). I had a balcony with two chairs and a table that overlooked a small olive grove - nice during the daytime as it was protected from the direct sun. All-in-all I really enjoyed staying at the Diaz and will definitely go back there again (maybe next September).

The apartments are close to the main area of Kavros just outside Georgioupolis. They’re clean and tidy, the pool is lovely and well maintained and there’s plenty of places nearby to eat/drink. We regularly used the public transport to get to the nearest towns (just 2 Euros single) and there’s a tourist train also to take you to the Lake (5 Euros return). There’s plenty of places to rent cars, scooters, quads, bikes etc too. The rooms have air conditioning, very comfortable beds and are serviced daily with beds made, fresh towels & linen, new toilet roll and the apartment cleaned. The owner also sorted out airport transfers for us. The apartments are in a quiet area with sheep and chickens for neighbours, there’s a few cats lurking about that added only joy to our stay. There is a lovely little Taverna just on the corner, which is really great value and delicious food, further down the road there is two supermarkets, and nearer the apartments there is a bakery, butchers and fishmongers close by. We cooked a couple of times in the apartment but ate out mainly.

The bedroom was big, with a small kitchen and a balcony. It has all you need.

Wonderful hosts, excellent location and will return again for the 3rd time! Wouldn't want any more for a lovely holiday.
