“Very boring”

We were 6 in the group for the first ten days. Two of us were Guyanese and were attracted to the bake and saltfish for the first 3 days. The other 4 tried to choose from the remaining items. Of the 4 two were Jamaicans who left after a very short stay very disappointed. Don't think we the Guyanese could get them to return to Guyana again. At least in the near future unless specifically invited to attend a special event.

The staff was very helpful and friendly The chef in the kitchen provided me food cooked separately because of my seafood allergies .

The hotel itself is lovely and well kept. Most of the staff are friendly, taxi drivers including Romel is helpful and give great advice as we are new to the country. Ferguson is a real star! Super helpful, It had a pool, drinks are good and reasonable, food nice in house taxi arrangements

Location: good for access but awful for sleeping - the traffic is noisy even early morning. As for food, definitely not catering to tourists. It's been 32 years since I visited Guyana, and I don't eat White flour or Daily products because of medical issues so had a tough time finding variety on the the menu.

The establishment itself is beautiful. Under construction at the minute but that did not affect our stay in the slightest. Food was delightful. Especially the buffet! Staff went above and beyond to accommodate. Our room was on the first floor, and after the first two nights in the heat with the stairs, I began to struggle due to health issues, so the girls at reception went out of their way to upgrade my room to a newly refurbished, ground floor. Besham delivered us safely and collected us on time, to and from all our excursions, including Mash (carnival) which is no mean feat with road closures and hectic traffic we love Besham! Romell was also a great driver, picking us up from the airport and Shivran dropping us off in time in spite of bad traffic and us leaving a little late!. Finally, Tamika, this woman is an asset to the hotel in general. Meal time services with a smile, all the best advice on how to utilise our stay to the highest capacity. Checking in on us in general and overall, just making us feel so welcome and loved!

The food was amazing & the staff are very welcoming and honestly very professional. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The main thing is they have local food and drinks which we couldn’t even find anywhere else.

Grand Coastal pays keen attention to details and that include customer service and satisfaction. We arrived at 3 am and was immediately taken to our room without any delay. Security is always around though it dont seem necessary. Great stay as usual.

The staff are exceptional, love the food , the atmosphere everything about the stay is very good. The driver Romel is very courteous, helpful etc.

“Good rooms, friendly staff but noisy”

Rooms were really clean and spacious, plenty of room for luggage and bags. Beds are large and really comfortable and air conditioning was excellent. Shower rooms big with good water pressure. The bar area is a good place to get a few ice cold beers - necessity given the heat. It has a restaurant with decent variety of dishes at reasonable prices $20 - $30, can't go wrong with the chicken curry. Restaurant has a section outside and an inside which is air conditioned. Reception is staffed most hours and quite useful for exchanging money to local currency. Lots of staff around, friendly and approachable. A couple of issues that I did raise with the staff were eventually dealt with satisfactorily.

The breakfast, staff, and location were delicious, professional, and easily accessible. I took the stay for rest and got that.

“Would have higher rating if pool available but still noisy…”

Room I would compare to a UK Premier Inn. Functional and comfortable. Some of the bathroom needed updating and no power shower just shower over a bath. Seals needed attention. Good towels and air on. Staff were calm, helpful and friendly so a highlight. Swimming pool which was reason we booked was under renovation so unusable. This should have been made clear before booking as we would have gone somewhere else. Only area to sit comfortably outside room was without any air on or fans and very hot. Also terribly loud background noise from the road which was only 25feet away and the main road. We had stayed 2 nights a week before for half the price in Georgetown but it had no pool. Had we known we would have remained there. Breakfast was given as a sorry no pool and it was very good.
