35 Brookside Kingswood golf estate Booked on booking .com on Thursday 10 June 2025 for Friday 11, checkin 3pm. Got a long confirmation email. I asked for slightly earlier checkin of between 1 and 2 instead of 3pm as 3pm is later than the standard of 1 or 2pm. The earlier checkin was declined, but booking remained confirmed and we thought we would just pass time in Outshoorn. It did say that the payment will not come off immediately as they do a screening first. So did think payment will come off the next day as I did input my card details on booking.com. Received another 2 long emails on Thursday with confirmation and more T&C’s. On Friday morning at 8:56am, I received an email saying hope we enjoyed our stay with loads more T&C’s for upon leaving. We had not checked in yet, but dates and time were correct. It must be noted that a R750 cleaning fee was quoted, but we had to put the trash out, clean up, pack the dishwasher etc etc. We arrived at security at 2:30pm. We told him we a bit early, but we have a booking for today and were told we can check in at 3pm. We were happy to wait. I short while later, security came to tell us he was told not to let us in. I asked if we will be allowed in at 3pm, he said they did not give any more detail. At 2:37pm I received a msg on whatsapp saying booking is cancelled and that the current guests decided to stay on. I said this is not acceptable. Then she said she didnt receive payment. I said that a reminder msg would have been appreciated telling me payment is due before cancelling. I was meant to be added to a whatsapp group, which also didnt happen. I got a msg within a minute or two while at security, why was I not msg’d sooner reminding me that payment was due. This was unprofessional and unacceptable. She said she had sent an email. I definitely did not receive that email. I received many others via booking .com and sent screenshots thereof.

Great location, good communal lounge and braai area with a lot of amenities. Host provided heaters for each room, and enough spare blankets to make it cosy when it was cold.

With the stunning golf course and the free-roaming springbok, it’s a nature lover’s paradise. During our visit, we were fortunate to witness the birth of a rare black springbok, a truly special moment that exemplified the unique wildlife thriving in the area. Strolling through the estate, the tranquil ambiance and scenic views made our stay all the more enjoyable. Overall, 35 Brookside on Kingswood Golf Estate offers a comfortable and inviting retreat and by addressing my improvement suggestions, this will be a 10 rating. With its thoughtful amenities and stunning surroundings, it’s a fantastic choice for anyone looking to relax and reconnect with nature. With a few adjustments, this already wonderful property has the potential to provide an even more exceptional experience.

The kitchen could use a few more appliances, such as a sandwich toaster as well as more cutlery and a few Tupperware containers to seal left overs in and refrigerate. It has all the necessities, just a thought.
