Wow this property is beautiful and unique. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to stay in a property with so much history. It was like going back in time. Easy walking around and a bus stop at the end of the road to venture out to other attractions. Breakfast was lovely. And staff so friendly and welcoming.

The property is really beautiful and full of character. My room was very clean and spacious, with a lovely balcony overlooking the internal courtyard. Everything was very tasteful and the owner Jane was a pleasure to chat with. She had lots of helpful tips and made me very welcome. Great location on Love Lane but at the quiet end!

“Excellent value, well located traditional style guesthouse”

My daughter and I stayed in the North Studio Suite which was exactly as it looked in the photos. The guesthouse is in a beautiful traditional wooden townhouse combined with a cool, eclectic vibe and was very relaxed. Although we overlooked Love Lane it is at the quieter end so after 11ish there was little noise and we both slept well thx to the comfortable bed and effective air conditioning plus fan - despite the heat wave. Communication with the staff was excellent and they were very accommodating over checkout. We both felt it was excellent value.

Really quirky building, so much character

I had a great stay here. The local breakfast was delicious, warm naan and fresh fruit, simple but good. The location is excellent: peaceful and quiet, yet within walking distance of fun bars and restaurants. The house is full of character and history, with a charming traditional atmosphere. The interior is beautifully done and the bathtub was absolutely amazing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It’s also a perfect place to sit, relax, have breakfast or read a book. I would definitely stay here again

Clever conversion. A stay in a bit of disappearing history. Great that owners are keeping the past and its fine architecture alive.

The accommodation is located in an original Chinese shop house and has been furnished with great care and taste. The owner is very friendly and provides lots of information about Georgetown. The optional informative and culinary day trip around Penang is highly recommended.

“Loved being located in Love Lane”

The location was excellent as it was right in the heart of George Town near to lots of interesting sights, including a chocolate shop just next door. The old world charm of the decor was also very pleasing.

You le Yuen is a beautiful place & full of character. Our bathroom was very nice. The hostess is very helpful & gives advice on George Town & what to see/ eat. There is a nice sitting area. It was very quiet when we were there, out of season.

Fantastic location just minutes from all the action. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby but located at the end of Love Lane so was quiet at night. the apartment is situated in a period building and is quirky and very interesting. It feels like an oasis at the end of the day. They also offer tours of the city with a local guide.

A beautiful building that has been converted into a very special bed & breakfast accommodation!! Ideally located for walking around and exploring the old centre of Georgetown. Jane is a fabulous host and the room I stayed in had ample space, everything you might need for a comfortable (luxurious even) stay, including a small fridge, a ceiling fan, a/c and water pressure to die for!
