“Horrible”

I was located on second floor and the single room I had was horror. And by horror you can understand that the wallpaper is so old that it pealing of the walls, it had big spots of infiltration on ceiling and scratches next to the door, a color that is extremely aged by time. The water is leaking in the bathroom sink. The room is extremely small and everything is old and damaged. This should not be a hotel.

“We had an excellent stay, and would highly recommend Marinha. It was very clean & comfortable.”

Due to delays, we arrived at the Hotel very close to midnight. Paloma, the Reservation Clerk, greeted us warmly and was very inviting although she didnt speak any English. We used Google Translator to assist. The restaurant was closed, but we were still offered coffee whilst we checked in. Our Room was on the 2nd Floor. No Elevator, but the stairs were sturdy and wide. Our Room made up for it. 10/10 for Cleaniness, Comfort and Facilities, inclusive of Internet. Bed, Pillows and Linen were clean, soft and comfortable. We had a TV, a Kitchenette and attached shower and bath which was big and clean with hot water and soft clean towels. Housekeeping was great as we got clean towels both days.

“Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price”

I stayed at the Marinha Hotel in Gentilly and was extremely disappointed, especially given the high rate of £146 per night. This hotel is located in a rather underwhelming Paris suburb, and while the location may be somewhat practical, the experience was anything but satisfactory. First and foremost, the door to my room did not lock properly, which meant I unknowingly spent my first night in an insecure room. This is completely unacceptable.( I have video proof it did not lock ) I left the next morning and contacted the hotel by phone and email to report the issue for them to fix it so i could stay in a secure room. I only noticed on going out in the morning as I always check the door is locked properly. This should never happen in any accommodation, let alone one charging this much. Other issues included: No entry code was provided for the building; I was locked out and had to call to gain access – had I not reached them, I would have been stranded at night . ( this should be sent via email at the time of booking and I do not remember being given a small piece of paper with the code ) If I had not been able to reach the staff by phone at 10:20 PM, I would have been stranded outside the property at night, alone, in a crummy part of Paris suburb with no access and no alternative accommodation. It is unacceptable that access information was not clearly communicated digitally, and no after-hours backup procedure was provided. it’s a serious guest safety issue.” Another guest also reported same. Thin, poor-quality towels No toilet paper provided on the third night When toilet paper was available, it was only a few sheets at a time, which felt stingy and inconvenient. Overall, this place felt like a serious rip-off. At this price point, basic security, hygiene, and communication should be a given. Despite being about a 20-minute walk from the nearest metro, the location doesn't make up for the shortcomings. Avoid Booking.

“Great location, nice staff, wonderful air conditioning, super marché very close by, RER B closeby!”

I like the location very much. A quiet area and the RER B was very close by, which made it very easy to get into the center of Paris and to go back to the airport.

Lovely hotel, in a nice, safe area with good transport connections. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent facilities - the room had a kitchenette and there is a bar downstairs. A great price to be so close to the centre of Paris. Felt like a home away from home.

Rer was 10mn walk but uphill

Staff were really really lovely and the bed was comfy

Good communication with owner. Of note, no staff was on premises, but there was a very efficient system to get the room key.

The owners were kind and homey. However they only spoke French and Portuguese so it was a bit difficult, but they tried their best to help me. The bar is good.
