Very welcoming family, room got cleaned every day

Everything. It was honestly perfect. The room was large and had so much storage, it was super clean, the rooms were cleaned every morning. I want to go back.

-We loved the location, near Cloud 9, and shops around and restaurant as well but not in the main busy road. -The place was really clean and tidy, kitchen very equipped, everything you need is there. -The room was spacious and the bathroom big as well and clean! -The family taking care of the place was really sweet and helpful, the owner is really nice as well, we even extended 3 days at the end of our 10 days!

Lovely family. Shared meals with us. Clean & spotless. Room cleaned and fresh linen and towels provided every 3 days. Close to sunset beach & restaurants. Shared kitchen which we loved as we like to make an expresso coffee and breakfast.

Location is great for Surfing, even without a scooter is possible to reach everything by trycycle or by foot. Less crowded area. Family is super friendly, could take surf lessons with their surf instructor Lowe and he also gave me a tour around the island. Stay was way too short. Felt like home for me.

“Best hostel in Siargao”

Probably one of the best hostel where I have been. It has everything we need in a shared room: some privacy, place to put your things (shelf, clothes rack, bed table…), shower and toilet inside the room and plenty of place to stock stuff. Extremely clean, they did the room almost every day. AC working the whole day if needed, important with this hot weather. Good location, next to everything but not in the noisy city center. People there is really nice and helpful. I can only recommend this hostel.

I had the best time here… the hostel itself is really beautiful, feels super cosy and the staff are really welcoming and friendly. The room I stayed in I shared with only two other people as that was the max capacity for it, perfect after staying in crammed hostels the previous weeks. You can really make yourself feel at home because the space you are given is so big, you have your own nightstand, a little closet/shelf and a small locker. Bathroom and shower are spacious too. Location is near Cloud9, perfect for surfing. Riad Masaya even has their own surf instructor and he’s great! Otherwise you have a couple good cafes and restaurants around the corner. General Luna is more lively but also only 10 minutes by tricycle/motorbike. If you want to rent a motorbike, you can even do it through the hostel. I wish I stayed here longer, I will book here again the next time I’m in Siargao.

“Best hostel for solo female traveler, highly recommend and it helped make my stay awesome”

To be honest, normally I'm not really a big fan of hostels because they're usually too crowded and noisy for me. But I booked spontanously and I didn't have much time to research other accommodations. I chose Riad Masaya because, as a solo female traveler, I wanted a safe and quiet place to sleep. And it was simply fantastic and exceeded all my expectations. The staff truly treats you like family; everyone is warm, friendly, and helpful without exception. A cleaning person comes every day and cleans the rooms and beds (and sometimes even tidies things up or folds the laundry, lol). There were many other solo female travelers in the hostel, and you immediately felt very comfortable. The rooms and the bathrooms are very clean, and you have enough of privacy thanks to the bamboo partitions between the beds. The warm atmosphere of the staff extends to the other guests, and everyone treats each other with respect and kindness. While the hostel is close to Cloud 9 and the beach, the party area is a bit too far to walk to. It didn't bother me much because I like to have some peace and quiet at night (which I think is a great plus). There's always someone driving you around on a moped or tricycle. Due to a storm, it wasn't entirely clear whether I would make my flight the morning of my departure, so the owner, Lorena, waited with me in the lobby for my transfer bus and cheered me up. She takes care of all needs immediately and is helpful and just a great host. I would have loved to stay much longer and would definitely return to this hostel.
