Very nice location! From the kitchen window you could see beautiful Geiranger fjord, amazing! A clean, quite and cozy room. The owner, Ian was very kind who told us a lot of stories about how to make local food, very interesting! There are many utensils, coffee and tea in the kitchen for people.

The location was perfect, Only a few hundred meters away from the ferry. And you can enjoy the awesome view of Geiranger. The room was awesomely quiet, clean, warm and cozy. Also the owner was super hospitable, he shared a superb route for us to explore and the couple are really friendly. The living room and kitchen has floor heating system and the bedroom has a radiator. There is also a supermarket nearby and you can cook with the clean kitchen stuff.

The view from the shared kitchen was spectacular. We had a comfortable room with a view to the mountainside and partial view to the fjord.

Location is outside of the village, about 3 km up! However the views were great and the owner is happy to shuttle up and down to the ferry or bus. The kitchen is well equipped and our room (Room 1) was large and airy.

The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The bathroom was also large and spotless. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, and cooking there felt just like being at home. Our stay at Lunheim was a lovely experience. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, breathtaking views, and a warm, welcoming host.

“BE WARNED! Owner cancels bookings without notice!”

BE WARNED! Owner has a tendency to cancel bookings without notice, you will not see these reviews on booking as it is pretty hard to write a review on booking without having finalized a stay at the property. I also realized this too late, but please check google and tripadvisor review where you will find that my experience is far from an isolated case. You can be without reservation a week before your vacation, at arrival or even kicked during your stay. For me its important that I can trust that if I make a reservation that I have a place to stay, as it can mess up your vacation plans pretty awkwardly. Long version… I have booked with my wife’s credit card, which has never been an issue. According to the owner this was in conflict with Norwegian Law and although phone call was a bit awkward with a lot off complaining about booking, in the end after speaking with my wife which confirmed her approval all was confirmed fine. More then 1,5 month later he decided without notice to debit the card, coincidentally there where not enough funds on the credit card. Instead off just sending us a note, so we could fix the issue he just immediately cancelled the booking. I gave the owner a call to understand what happened and he started complaining about booking again. The owner offered the solution to book directly, potentially to save on the commission to booking.com, the main problem for me was that I needed to provide him my credit card details over the phone which I believe is not save. I tried to find a solution, booking again on booking, doing a bank transfer in advance or paying by cash. Even though the call was a bit awkward/rude again, I can guarantee you I remained understandable and very polite… And then it happens, just asking the question if that would be a solution… He was very rude and just hang up the phone. The owner will probably reply with his backwards way off thinking which he typically does. I will let you be the judge if all customers are wrong or...

The view was spectacular from the dining/kitchen area. The rooms were roomy with large on suites, comfy beds, and meal was exceptional with the bonus of being highly entertained by our host, who was extremely knowledgeable of the area.

Absolutely gorgeous location, of course. My room and the kitchen had beautiful views of the valley & fjord. The bed & furnishings in the room were comfortable, the curtains very effective, and the shower was so nice and warm, with good pressure and no leakage onto the floor! The hosts were very lovely and helpful - they went above & beyond for me and provided a lot of information about the area. The breakfast was also yummy with fresh bread, jam, and a selection of cheese/meats, yogurt & fruit.

Our room was nice and cozy. The kitchen is very well organized and has a lot of equipment. We stayed only for one night, but would defenitely come back to this booking if ever returning.

“Super friendly and helpful management, great views of Geiranger”

Fantastic views of Geiranger, very warm and welcoming couple managing the property and providing plenty of local tips. Even offered to put some food together when we arrived late in the evening. Room and shared kitchen (fantastic view) had everything we needed.

The room was okay, just as described. Our problem was with the host. At first, he seemed friendly and kind, but at the first opportunity, he took advantage of us. He charged me 1125 NOK (around 96 Euros) for three hours of his time. We traveled to this place by car and drove to a nearby waterfall, not knowing our car would get stuck. We contacted the host, and he picked us up—it was just a 1 to 3-minute drive from the waterfall to the house. The next morning, since we had left some important items (documents and credit cards) in the car at the host’s suggestion, we needed to retrieve them. Before we could leave, the host locked the exit door, so we couldn’t get out without his permission. He offered to drive us to the car, even though we told him we could walk. He insisted, so we accepted his "help." He took us to the car but then drove us farther up the hill. He stopped and started talking to a random guy, wasting time while we were left waiting. After finishing his conversation, he finally drove us back to the house. We didn't realize at the time that he was deliberately stalling. That’s when things took a dark turn. We were anxious and scared because we had a flight from Oslo the next day and didn’t know how to get out of Geiranger. The host used this situation to threaten us and take our money. First, he told us that the only way out was by ferry or bus and that it would be very expensive, but he could drive us—for a price. Then, he tried to prevent us from contacting the tow truck and claimed they would charge us more than he would. Luckily, we managed to speak directly with the tow truck owner, and they told us that transportation was covered by our insurance, so we didn’t have to pay anything. Next, he told me that I had "used" two hours of his time and that I had to pay him 300 NOK (around 25 Euros) per hour. He justified this by saying he was "not kind" and was "working," so I had to compensate him.
