Wow wow wow!!!!! Porto Gavrio…… incredible!! We have stayed in many many apartments on the Greek islands and this one is King of them all!! Fabulously decorated and designed. The bed MUST be the comfiest in Greece!!! Wonderfully equipped. The bathroom was simply amazing and please Dimitri DONT get rid of that super bath. The hot water was piping hot. Dishwasher, washing machine…. What else could one want. So so sorry that we couldn’t stay longer! Definitely on my bucket list to return. Great views. Plenty of local amenities. Local sandy beach. Yamas!!!

Portogavrio Apartment is an excellent base from which to explore Andros island. The location next to the port is convenient, the apartment spacious and well furnished, and the host is friendly and very helpful.

The location of this apartment is perfect for off-season travel to Andros. The bed is comfortable and the apartment is spotless. Winter Travel Recommendations: Car hire from 25 Euro at Andros Car Hire next to the chemist Bar: E-Gavrio (Traditional and interesting interior) Restaurant: Karavostasi Tavern on the front. Maps: Hiking map 9 euro from the book shop on the main street, Map of Andros from tourist information. Again, on the main street. Drinking water from the water station next to tourist information. Chora Restaurant: Verde Supermarket: AB on the main street Gavrio stays open for winter due to the ferries. We visited at the end of February so we had some lovely sunny days which were perfect for hiking. The holiday resorts such as Batsi are closed for the winter but they usually have one restaurant open serving a limited but usually excellent local menu. We found it luxurious to walk on the empty beaches which would be packed during the summer months. There were a couple of good restaurants open in Gavrio but because it is off season, choice is limited. We ate in the gyros place on the main street about 10 meters from the apartment in the evening, which serves salads, souvlaki and Gyros. The pita bread there is particularly good. During the day, we either took a picnic from the excellent bakery on the front or ate at whichever restaurant was open in the resorts we visited. I recommend Verde in Chora (Andros Town).

The closeness to the port for the ferries. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room and bathroom were huge. Great views of the ferries.

The location was absolutely perfect, just a minute's walk from the ferry. The apartment is above an ice cream parlour but no noise at all. View from the balcony of the port and the town was fabulous. The apartment was amazing. Huge room and a stunning bathroom. Everything worked perfectly and was spotlessly clean.The bed was without doubt the most comfortable we slept in during our 3 week trip. We were there for 2 nights in September and wanted to extend our stay but it was already booked. There are a good number restauarants and bars seconds away and even a great ladies hairdressers much appreciated by my wife.. For such a small village it has everything you need for a quiet holiday. We much prefer Gavrion to Batsi or the town. Can't recommend this apartment and it's owner highly enough. Will definitely be back.

right in the heart of gavrion with a balcony to people & boat watch! a spacious studio which felt really comfortable with a big double bed, quiet when windows shut, good kitchen amenities. Dimitri is a really nice guy. we spent some time chatting with him over some raki. a great base to explore island. car hire from him too - colours. plenty of food options a few minutes away.
