“Great location”

We could see Arnardrangur at our room. It’s amazing. The owner made us very nice cake. The breakfast was delicious and exquisite.

The breakfast was incredible! Sitting around a table and eating with the rest of the guests, it was a great start of the day! The bed was super comfortable and everything was super clean.

Highly recommended ; The place is very nice, the rooms are cozy and the guesthouse is well located. The breakfast is simply delightful (almost everything is homemade) A lovely place to stay !

We had a really good time at Grand Guesthouse Gardakot. The host is very friendly, our room was beautiful and had the best view on Dyrhólaey, the house is really cozy, and breakfast was yummy. Thank you !

Everything was perfect, the owner is really kind,the house is beautiful and very clean, when we arrived we found a delicious homemade cake to welcome us, the breakfast is really tasty, fresh and homemade.

we had 2 amazing days at the beautiful guesthouse. Although we were only there for the sleep, we felt heartly welcoming. The house is very clean and you have your own privacy, with your own bathroom. The breakfast was overwhelming and more than delicious. homemade bread, homemade jams, homemade cake and fresh salmon. Everything tasted good and gave us enough power for the day. I really recommend this guesthouse and I am sure you will love it!

Exceptional stay! Truly a home away from home—we could have stayed indefinitely, experiencing two nights of pure magic. On our first night, the aurora borealis treated us to an awe-inspiring spectacle, a breathtaking dance of pink and green exploding in the sky, visible to the naked eye. Breakfast, lovingly prepared by Eva (our favorite Icelander!), was an unforgettable feast. From freshly baked homemade bread to mouthwatering pancakes, smoked lamb, an array of jams, fresh juices, cheeses, coffee, skyr, and more—the spread was perfect! Connie, Eva's Icelandic sheepdog, greeted us at the door every morning, making us feel like he was our own dog. Warm, playful, and a wonderful guide around the property. Our room's private bathroom was impeccable, complete with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The warm and cold water for the shower, along with the delicious tap water, added to the comforts. Dyrholaey lighthouse and Vik were conveniently close. Eva's daily cake offerings were a delightful surprise, consistently delicious on both days. Tea and coffee were always available, rounding out the overall fantastic experience. Best of all, the accommodation is easy to find. Eva went above and beyond by volunteering to wash our clothes when we needed a washing machine, which the property didn't have. She graciously used her personal washing machine at her house, showcasing her exceptional hospitality. Additionally, the decors and the overall house exuded warmth and were well-designed, adorned with trinkets, interesting paintings, and pictures. Games for guests to use and well-maintained common areas added to the charm. We even had the pleasure of chatting with other guests on the second morning. We loved every aspect of our stay and highly recommend it!

Everything is amazing! From the room, to the shared spaces, to the outside. Simply stunning. The owner is super friendly, kind and very attentive. She made the most amazing breakfast with lots of homemade products or fresh from the farm. Amazing location as well, super comfy beds, fantastic shower and I can keep going. The price is really competitive for the area, I think, especially for the service you get. 10/10 worth it! Thank you!!! I’ll keep saved this place for future trips! P.s. super friendly and fluffy dog always waiting to greet new guests!

An amazing breakfast, all fresh and local ingredients. Many extra little details throughout the location to help guests feel extra comfortable. Tea and cake was made available throughout the day, which was very warming. Honesty, it felt like a home away from home.

Eva was an amazing host, preparing the most delicious breakfast, during which she heard our stories and answered all our questions about Iceland and living there. Everything was prepared with love and care, and she even kept some things we forgot in the fridge so we could pick them up a few days later when we drove back to the capital. It might not be the cheapest accommodation, but it is totally worth it.

“The most memorable stay of our Iceland trip with the most wonderful host”

Eva is an incredible host who goes above and beyond to welcome her guests. We had the best breakfast of our whole trip to Iceland with Eva serving up home made traditional breads and jam, salmon her husband had caught and smoked lamb from the farm. The atmosphere she has created in the guesthouse is homely with a communal dining room that feels like you’re having a dinner party with other travellers in a warm and stylish Icelandic home. This was definitely the most memorable stay of our trip to Iceland.

The whole house was clean and cozy. We knew we would arrive later than the regular check-in time so called ahead of the time. There was no problem with the late check-in. We went there after a long and exciting day, partially wet from visiting big waterfalls. The kitchen area was so cozy and warm, welcoming us with candles! The upstairs room we booked was nice and had a good view to the backyard. The location may seem a bit isolated but it worked well for us. It's near the famous black beach and a quick ride away from Vik so it was very convenient to go there after finishing the day with the visit to the black beach and starting the next day with the Ice cave tour at Vik. The breakfast was amazing!!! Truly exceptional! I highly recommend staying here!

“Brilliant and memorable stay.”

This is lovely place to stay and a memorable part of our journey. Eva the host is lovely and greeted us to make sure all was okay. She prepared a 5 star breakfast for us with many homemade specialties. We made dinner in the shared kitchen and enjoyed our meal sitting around the great dining table with other guests. The property is adjacent to the beautiful cliffs and beach. It is expensive, but value for money. We would stay again.

Great comfortable bed, lovely surrounding, one of the nicest places we have stayed in Iceland. Breakfast was all home made. Would most definitely stay here again.
