Overview
Gangneung Tourist Hotel is located 2 km from Gangneung KTX Station and Gangneung Express Bus Terminal. The hotel offers free WiFi in all areas as well as private on-site parking. “Excellent value in a central location.”
The staff are welcoming and helpful. My room was very spacious and I had a pleasant view. The dining room is very pleasant and airy and there was a good range of food to suit my taste for breakfast. The location was good for me as I wanted to be close to the KTX station. It’s a long walk but manageable. Taxi is a 5-8 min ride. It’s walking distance to the Gangneung Jungang Market where you can try some of the local specialty dishes. If you want to visit some of the popular beach locations there are plenty of regular buses nearby. Some nice little ‘extras’ are provided (comb, razor, toothbrush kit and shoe shine cloth) that I appreciated.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. The room was very big, especially for Korean standards. It was also very clean. The view was also really really pretty.
