“The Place Where the Road Ends – And the Beauty Leaves You Speechless”

Gamvik is located in the far north of Norway on the Nordkyn Peninsula, right by the Barents Sea — remote, peaceful, and incredibly impressive. The drive itself is already part of the adventure: crossing the wide mountain plateaus and high mountain passes on the way feels like a truly epic road trip. The vast landscapes, the open skies, and the feeling of absolute space make the journey unforgettable. It is genuinely a destination worth traveling for. The accommodation itself is actually designed as a shared guesthouse with several rooms, but during our stay we had the entire place to ourselves, which made it even more special. We were welcomed extremely warmly by the owner, who personally showed us everything and explained all the details in a very friendly and helpful way. The location is outstanding, directly by the sea with unobstructed views of the Barents Sea. Looking out of the window at the water and the dramatic Arctic scenery is something very special. Close by is the Slettnes Lighthouse, the northernmost mainland lighthouse in Europe — a remarkable place that perfectly reflects the raw and powerful character of this region. we travelled 2026-02 and will come back in the Summertime in the Future The rooms are very clean, functional, and well maintained. Everything is practical and comfortable, and you immediately feel at ease. There is a well-equipped kitchen with dining facilities and a cozy seating area to relax. Parking is right in front of the building, and WiFi is of course available. Unfortunately, there was so much snow outside that we could not use the terrace, but even the winter conditions add to the unique atmosphere of this place. We would come back anytime.

This accommodation is very convenient, we stayed in 2 rooms, one had view on small lighthouse and see, it was very beatiful. At the kitchen that was common for all guests we had everything we needed to prepare breakfast and small dinner. Also great to meet and share other travellers, we had long journey after us and small children, so we did not enjoy, but otherwise ot is perfect place to meet and chat with other travellers. Nearby we visited lighthouse Slettnes, great cafe and nice cakes, Recommended.

Location is 5-star: you are literally on the seaside and looking onto Barents sea! The room was small but very clean and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped with everything needed. Small shop is located just a few steps away and northernmost lighthouse is ~3km away.

“Best beds in Norway and super clean facilities”

There are two shared kitchens, room with TV and chill out zone. The room itself is small. Norwegians like very soft matrasses, however, here are the best beds I have ever slept in Norway- not too soft or hard. And everything in the room and shared facilities was super cleand and spotless. The owners were super nice. Overall great place.

it was perfect for what we wanted , a sea view , and harbour walk on our door step , room great and plenty of cooking facilities and places to rest , all like new and the owners are nice people , we will be back and keep an eye out for their next party , maybe do a winter trip next time

Very clean. Small rooms, single room was good as was the view to the harbour and sea. Everything was as if brand new and in good condition, two shared kitchens had everything one could need and again spotless clean. The staff was super helpful and nice, showed everything at arrival and bought us even a hair dryer when we asked for one. Perfect place to stay in lovely Gamvik!

Extremely helpfull host in everything I asked.

The location was easy to find. We called the number beside the door and the owner came in just a couple of minutes. Despite being a container-based building, the property was fully equipped (private bathrooms, hot water, shared kitchen), warm and very well-insulated. The room was cosy with a large window and a nice sea view just near the bed. Pay attention to the mosquitos when opening the window during the summer period.

As soon as we walked in the door here we were sold. It way exceeded our expectations. Despite looking like the online photos, in real life it seems warmer and cosier than it looks online. There are three lounge areas with one large screen tv and two fully equipped kitchens with dining areas. Loads of fridge space, two cookers and ovens, a microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee machine plus loads of cooking equipment, crockery and utensils. Everything is as clean as a whistle. We booked a twin room which again, seemed larger than in the photos. It’s a bit like a ships cabin with a similar style of bathroom and storage under and between the beds plus wall shelves and hooks. Again, super clean and with a warm cosy feel and good bedding. There are great view over the harbour from the shared spaces and some rooms. There were other guests but no noise was audible from other rooms. The owners were friendly, efficient and helpful. Highly recommended.
