A great experience! We spent one night here and enjoyed a nice dinner followed by an amazing half-day safari. The location is peaceful and by a small lake (you can spot many birds there). The rooms are simple but highly comfortable with AC. You will be staying in nature, so not many things around which is nice for a little getaway. The manager's hospitality is unmatched: he communicated via WhatsApp well before we arrived, accommodating our needs and arranging a safari (breakfast included). Also many thanks to our guide - he was able to answer our questions, calm and quiet, and a good spotter:) Can recommend.

“Great accommodation for a visit to Wilpattu!”

Can't fault this place or the staff!! They went above and beyond. Arranged dinner and cooked for us, answered any questions we had, and let us know if there was anything we had to be careful about (elephants etc). Air con worked well, bed was comfortable and they also packed us a breakfast for our safari the next day- juice, fruit, chips, sandwiches, egg. Definitely stay here if you're looking to do a safari!

Location great for Wilpattu safari. Fridge in room. Walk to the lake at the back of the garden for bird watching was amazing. Wildlife books on hand. Comfortable bed.

Anton is a great host. Very friendly en good communication through whatsapp as well. The room has everything you need and the location is very close to the National Park. Breakfast and diner was delicious.

“Fantastic place in Wilpattu”

So professional in everything that they do,Anton and his staff are very good Anton we over and above to make our stay something special he even got us a Taxi from the coast, the evening meal was first class and the even checked for allergies .The rooms are very good the beds are comfy and they have even got hot water. The safari was amazing our driver was so knowledgeable we saw plenty of wildlife and even the sloth bear. Would highly recommend the accommodation and the price is unbeatable

“Perfect spot for Wilpattu safari”

Fantastic guest house just up the road to Wilpattu Safari. The guesthouse quickly responded to all questions, organised a great safari for us and gave us breakfast, packed lunch and 2 course dinners. Would highly recommend staying here. Great value for money and kind owners. Excellent and heaps of food.

The staff was amazingly friendly and well organised. We booked our safari through them and everything was well taken care of.

“Excellent stay and safari with incredibly helpful host”

Anton was incredibly helpful from the moment we first got it touch a few months before our stay. He was very communicative and helped organise a car for our onward journey too at a reasonable price. The safari was excellent, and the food was delicious. The rooms were comfortable and clean and ideally situated close to the entrance of Wilpattu national park.

“Good choice for Wilpattu”

The guest house has only 2 rooms and a larger accommodation for families. We liked the small scale and the personal approach of the staff. They are very warm and friendly and the food (breakfast, lunch & dinner) was home made and very good! This guest house has an excellent price-quality rate. We booked a full day safari with them. They work with a local driver who does his very best to make the safari a success (in terms of animal watching). We definitely recommend!

“From arrival until departure the most amazing experience!”

The accommodation is located very near the park entrance. Clean rooms with AC were lovely! While the accommodation was lovely, it was the staff that elevated the experience! The safari which they offer was amazing. We have seen almost every animal in the park! Moreover every breakfast and dinner was prepared with love. “Nice little stay”

A nice little 2 night stay in Wilpattu. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, easily accessible via WhatsApp. We were given a room upgrade which was very much appreciated while travelling with a 2 year old. Our morning safari was organised by our host and our driver/guide was great. We were able to spot a leopard at such a close distance with no other jeeps in sight. We had our heart set on seeing elephants, but this isn't the ideal national park for elephant sightings (something to keep in mind). A tasty lunchbox was packed for us, along with bottled water so we were set until we returned (roughly 11am). We paid for dinner at the property, which is very convenient, however if you have your own transport, there are some lunch/dinner options in close driving distance. Thank you for having us 😊

Anton is very nice and welcoming. The food prepared was delicious Sri Lankan food which is perfect if you have just arrived in Sri Lanka (for us the case).

Everything! Beds were comfortable, staff was suuuper nice and the safari was amazing with a great guide!! 10/10 would recommend and stay here again.

I stayed at this accommodation for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. The owner is very nice and gave me a lot of support in planning the journey to and from the hotel. He also planned the safari for me. This was a great experience as the guide had a lot of knowledge. Another highlight was the dinner. The room was perfectly fine for the two nights. The room was very clean. I can highly recommend this accommodation.

We had an amazing stay at Wilpattu Wildhideaway! Anton, the owner, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The meals were absolutely delicious, and the whole team went out of their way to take care of us. We also booked a safari through them, which was a fantastic experience, we saw plenty of wildlife. Everything was perfect, and we would definitely recommend staying here.

Anton and the team made us feel very welcome, the accomodation is clean and comfortable and the food is good. We arranged a safari through Wild Hideaway and it was a great driver and also very close by. The property is very close to the edge of the park, and we were able to see a lot of birds and other wildlife close by. Also used this as a base to visit Anuradhapura.
