Overview
Set at an altitude of 1500 metres, La Gruba Relais is less than 10 minutes' drive from Gaby town centre. It offers a 400 m² garden, a terrace with sun loungers and a peaceful setting. The rooms are decorated completely in wood and have a rustic design. Each one include free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom with shower. Some rooms have a balcony. A continental breakfast is served each morning and includes homemade cakes and biscuits, croissants, ham and cheese. The restaurant serves specialities from the Aosta Valley at lunch and dinner. Here you can enjoy homemade pasta, bread and cakes. Meals are served outdoors during summer. La Gruba Dortoir provides free parking and a car is recommended as public transport is scarce. The Monte Rosa ski lifts are 25 minutes' drive away and the area is ideal for mountain excursions whatever the season.

The place is truly outstanding. It is as remote as it can get, embedded in nature, high up in the mountains and providing direct access to hiking trails. The food and wine selection is outstanding, breakfast as well. The place is a bit costly but the price is justified by the excellent quality of the food and accomodation.

What a treat to arrive here after a long day of hiking. The meals and wines in the restaurant were delicious. The breakfast was very extensive and (contrary to many Italian breakfasts) provided a good base for hiking. There were pancakes, yoghurt, scrambled eggs and much, much more! The comfortable beds and clean bathroom ensured we were ready to get back on the trail well-rested the next day.

Superb! Great location, fantastic rooms, refurbished old stone house with great attention to details and materials, with design approach! Very good restaurant! Scenic tracks for hiking start right from the hotel. Great family and personnel running the place! Highly recommend it to everyone!
