“Lovely place!”

Lovely place! It’s so big that we barely can hear each other if we’re in opposite directions. But the rooms still feel cozy and are very pretty. The hosts were also very helpful and kind during our stay. We could forward our luggage to the accommodation (to another adress and they made sure it was in the accommodation once we’d arrived), they reserved e-bikes for us and delivered them to the front door, made a taxi reservation and even delivered a package we had forgotten at another hotel (and that we sent to another adress). So very kind! It’s also right in the center of Hida-Furukawa, so it was around the corner of all the restaurants, the station and the koicarpers😁 Definitely recommend!

“The perfect Japan experience.”

If you want to experience Japan in a beautiful and relaxing town, Hida is a must and Yoshiki stay is the perfect place. Just five minutes walk from the train station and 4 minute walk to the centre of town. Good restaurants and izakaya near by. This is what everyone is looking for in Kyoto and kanazawa, but without the crowds. Very helpful and friendly staff, We felt extremely welcomed in the town and enjoyed walking around in the evenings along the canal. The local wood working museum and festival museum are excellent.

Wonderful experience in a traditional house, close to everything in town in a quiet street. Great communication including meeting us at the station and giving us a guided tour of the property.

We loved the house and wished we could stay longer. The communication with the host was excellent, he met us on arrival. The house itself was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Our stay gave us a glimpse into how it would be to live in a real house in rural Japan. The location was excellent- right by the canal, close to 2 sake breweries, restaurants and all major attractions. We enjoyed a traditional Japanese breakfast in the morning, which was delivered to the door. The town of Hida is beautiful - the highlight of our trip so far.

We arrived late in the evening, and the owner kindly placed a welcome sign outside the garage to guide us. The four-bedroom house was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our group of six. It has a unique style and character, yet feels tidy, clean, and very homely—perfect for a small group gathering. The location is convenient, with several great dining options nearby. One highlight was Yamayu Ushi Ikkan, just a 5–15 minute drive or walk away. Because of the language barrier, the owner and team graciously helped us make a reservation there, and the dinner turned out to be one of the most unforgettable meals of our trip. We also visited a local farmers’ market, where the people were warm and welcoming, adding to the charm of our stay. Overall, this house offered both comfort and authenticity, making our time in Japan truly memorable.

Host was very courteous and helpful in settling in. House was comfortable and spacious. Provided a nice change from cramped hotel rooms. Great location within Hida, so close to canal and breweries and temples.

“Lovely traditional Japanese townhouse in a quiet village atmosphere.”

We had a lovely 3 nights stay here & as an alternative to Takayama we really enjoyed this quiet village, old buildings & unique shops. There are some nice temples to visit, great local restaurants at reasonable prices & only 15 mins to Takayama by train. The bento box breakfast was a bonus & enjoyed that each morning in the traditional reception room. Also if cooking yourself, there is a good supermarket nearby

This is a great combination of a traditional apartment with fully equipped modern kitchen and bathroom. Every thing is so clean and easy to operate. We loved the location in this small village of Hida furukawa, so quiet and interesting and so close to Takayama. It was easy to get there with the train.

A great experience of living in a real japanese house. Everything is designed perfectly and the house is fully equipped with beautiful necessities.

“Perfect place to stay - short or long”

There's not a single thing we didn't like about this place - it's so nice, big, well equipped with everything... Honestly, this was one of the best places we've stayed at during our Japan trip. It's easy to find, the host met us, showed us to place to park our car, explained everything and even recommended a really great restaurant to go to. Honestly, this is how it should be done.

Beautiful traditional Japanese house, most probably over 100 years old, but very clean and renovated with new kitchen and bathroom, very comfortable, traditional Japanese breakfast provided , the host was very kind, we had to cancel 1 night and he gave us a partial refund, only it was a bit difficult to get up from tatami mattress during the night, we are in our late 60s..🤭
