Cozy place with history; excellent hosts who try to cultivate the place and its history. Japanese style beds, neat and tidy, very clean and family vibes. Bikes available to rent. Comfortable bathroom, good organisation

Beautiful historic ryokan. Quiet area with good restaurants nearby and a view on mt Fuji from my room. Onsen bath also that was great after a long day

BEST STAY EVER!! If you get good weather, you get a private view of mt Fuji, insanely stunning. Also was lucky to be the only guest for the night so the house was super calm and quiet. Good coffee, good location. Great warm bath!! MAKE SURE TO BOOK MORE THAN 1 NIGHT

View from the room, overall atmosphere, friendly staff happy to share their family history, It is not typical hotel, so it is hard to compare, but whole experience is brining you close to Japan culture and it is unusual and magical

“Fantastic”

The location is superb, at the foot of mount fuji and outside the more touristy area. However, they offer great electric bikes for rent, which makes it the perfect location to explore the fuji (incl lakes) area. Really traditional stay, absolutely beautiful and unique.

We really enjoyed the warmth of our welcome and the csptivating atmosphere. The checking-in process with additional introductory talk about the buildings/area was wonderful, as was the prayer for a safe onward journey prior to our departure.

The host was very welcoming, the rooms were spacious and traditional. We were welcomed with a tour and an explanation of the history of the Inn. It was a very nice stay and the bath is wonderful.

I loved the family-home style of the property, and especially the introduction to the history of Mt Fuji and the house I adored the family-home feel of the property and particularly enjoyed learning about Mt Fuji’s history and the house’s ancestors. An incredible photo of the host’s grandfather’s grandfather preparing to climb Mt Fuji really captured the connection to the mountain. It was also super handy that the property rents eclectic bikes which I used to explore the city. And my room had a stunning view of the mountain! The home’s grandmother also performed a short ceremony for me when I left to protect me on my future travels. I loved it.

A truly special stay in a historic location. Hearing about the history of the area, and of the inn itself, was amazing. The property was extremely well-kept, the bathroom and bath were excellent, and even though shared, the booking system worked a treat. Stunning views of Fuji from the upstairs window, got one of my best photos there!

Kind people and history about the building and family.

The property is like a time travel to the past. We wish we had more time to spend here. The rooms was spacious, well airconned even in the heat. We were not lucky enough to see the fuji property, but we managed to get a glimpse of it in the morning via our window. It was beautiful. The staff was wonderful. They went out of their way yo introduce us to the history of the place, and when we left we were sent of with such warmth if almost felt like home. Thank you.

Wonderful place, very nice owner, I love the energy there and how the place looks like. Very special quest house. Staying here is an experience worth giving a chance. I didn’t know they offer also the original Japanese bath every night (private onsen). I did book and it was a cherry on top of the stay. Private onsen? Yes, please! The location is great, just by the Main Street with the view to the Mt. Fuji. And the town is less crowded than Kawaguchico, still very easy to get to the lake by bike. They offer also e-bikes which is the best way to explore.

The staff is very friendly and the house has a very long history in serving the Mt Fuji pilgrims. The story of the house is really interesting.
