Overview
Asumi Onsen features a hot spring bath and Japanese-style and Western rooms. A hot spring bath for private use is available free of charge. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi at the lobby, free-use laundry facilities and free parking. Hotel Onsen Asumi is around a 10-minute drive from Shimo-Yoshida Station, and a 15-minute drive from golf course Pre-Stage Golf Garden. Amusement park Fiji-Q Highland is a 20-minute drive, while both Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Yamanaka can be visited a 25-minute drive away. Mount Fuji entrance is an 80-minute drive. Free shuttle service is available from Fujisan Station upon a request one day in advance. Guests at the Asumi can relax in a soothing public hot spring bath, or enjoy one for private use. Reservation is not needed. Yukata robes are available for rent, and a second public hot spring bath is available when enough guests are staying. Japanese-style rooms offer traditional futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor, while Western rooms come with a carpeted floor and beds. All rooms are fitted with a TV, a fridge and air conditioning/heating, while toilets and bathrooms are shared. A Japanese dinner can be requested, which will be served in the dining room. Groups can hire the banquet room for a private dinner.

I like that accommodation was traditional, close to center with great view to Fuji. Breakfast was nice and tasty. And evening onsen and massage chair is huge plus. Owners were always helpful and nice people

“Wonderful, calming place”
Perfect location, too bad we couldn't stay a little longer. Sleeping on futons has its own charm, it was very comfortable for me and the pillows under my head were great / I don't know what they were filled with, but my head and neck were well relaxed / The private onsen was the cherry on the cake. Very helpful couple provide this accomodation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic accommodation

I loved my night's stay at Asumi Onsen. My first experience of a traditional Japanese inn and of an Onsen bath and it was great. The owners are a lovely couple, very welcoming. I would definitely stay again and recommend others to stay here too. Arigatou gozaimasu!

“A diamond in the rough of a popular tourist location.”
The onsen was hot hot hot! But perfect for a long and cold day around the Fuji lakes. Also the breakfast was nice and the heart shaped eggs were very cute!

“Mixed feelings”
Japan style accommodation. Nice owners. Bikes for free (they have only two, small size). I recommend to use it and visit at least Asumi Lake - very nice place out of crowds. Nice Onsen. Open 6PM to 11PM. For one group only (private). So you need to wait and hope it will be your turn. One day we did not get there, the other two we did.

Inn in a traditional Japanese style, featuring shared tatami rooms. If you enjoy futons and sleeping in a group, it’s perfect! The heated bath available on-site is particularly pleasant. Additionally, breakfast is offered every morning. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

This ryokan is located in a very peaceful area, perfect if you want to avoid crowded tourist spots. It is about 2 km from Shimoyoshida Station. The room was clean and the futon was very comfortable. The ryokan has a private onsen, which is perfect for relaxing after a long day. My stay included breakfast, which was delicious.The owners are extremely nice and helpful, and they speak English, so there is no need to worry if you don’t speak Japanese. On my last day, the owner even gave me a ride to the train station, which was very kind of him. If I am in the area again, I would definitely return to this ryokan.

“Lovely traditional Japanese experience”
If you are looking to stay in a real Japanese style bed-and-breakfast at a good price, look no further than Asumi Onsen! The room is spacious for two people and clean. The breakfast is good, served to you in a tatami lounge. The host and hostess is an elderly couple, who are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They we’re kind to our every request, let us rent bikes for free, and even took drove us to Shimoyoshida station at the end of our stay. Finally, you will enjoy soaking in the in-house Onsen at the end of the day!

“Retro but super clean authentic Japanese hotel.”
Super clean and retro very traditional authentic Japanese hotel. Very good for value. Almost brand new tatami mattress. Despite the bathrooms are shards it was very clean and was comfortable.

Onsen is the term for steam bath and it was really excellent! The owners are simply fantastic, the father Even waking up early to drive us to nearby temple or train station. Highly recommendable

“Traditional Japanese Ryokan Retreat at a good price”
Lovely traditional Ryokan for a good price. Really nice breakfast included & use of a private Onsen. The host was so lovely & friendly. He allowed us to use his bikes & he dropped us to the station after our stay. Highly recommend this if you want to experience futon beds, a private Onsen & everything a traditional Japanese Ryokan has to offer.

- it was my second time in asumi and I think, I'll be back - friendly and helpful host - clean, every day changed towels - after all day, can go for relax in onsen - breakfast included - beautiful mountains around for walking - old house with japanese style: really comfy
