“Fabulous stay in a beautiful quiet place on one of the five lakes. Felt more like a home than hotel.”
The owners were lovely and extremely welcoming. The food at the cafe was fabulous and deliciously fresh. Inspired and cooked by the family matriarch. A great antidote to the business of other parts of Mount Fuji and surrounds.

“Extremely hospitable hosts in a rugged but comfortable and spacious cabin by the lake”
Cannot speak highly enough of the hospitality we received while there. They initially didn’t know what a vegan diet was, but after I explained they happily accommodated and even provided me with meals that weren’t on the menu. And as we were checking out, they kindly offered to drive us to the train station and the even gave us some snacks for the road. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious- was a bit cold at first but with three heaters that we kept running constantly it was absolutely fine. And when the fuel in one of the heaters ran out of fuel they happily refuelled it for us. The cafe and room had free tea which was very comforting on cold nights. Overall, despite being on vacation far away from home in a foreign country, it felt like staying at your grandparents. Was an absolutely lovely and peaceful experience.

“Saiko lake”
Very cute property in a beautiful location. Clean. Peaceful. There is also a restaurant where I ate all my meals. The owners who also run the restaurant are very polite and helpful. Strongly recommending!

“Rustic lodge in amazing setting”
Such a good find. Away from the hustle of kawaguchiko with amazing surroundings ti a rustic style lodge. We walked to the caves and observatory and green line bus picks up outside the restaurant.

“great to barbecue in front of your cottage”
very large cottage on the border of the lake Saiko. to see Mount Fuji you need to get on the opposite side of the lake and even there there is only a limited visibility. So you should better drive to the other lake nearby, the Shojiko, there is a camp ground with stunning Fuji views. so it is helpful to stay at this very affordable cottage here, you can barbecue outside your door and the owners will help you set up the barbecue and sell you charcoal if you didn't bring any with you. Bathroom has warm shower and the WiFi worked very well. The view from this side of the lake is also beautiful but doesn't include the Fuji. Thanks to the owners for a very affordable stay and their kindness!

Absolutely authentic and cozy wooden Japanese hut with vintage spirit all over the place. Definitely worth it for those who don't like fancy places, also it's pretty isolated and close to the japanese national trail. Everything was provided, the food at the restaurant was really tasty, and the portions were big.

“A lovely man, but the temperature made our night a bit tricky!”
The cabin was spacious and clean, and with great facilities such as a large bathroom, fridge, microwave and kettle. There were two beds, and further space upstairs for additional guests. It was plenty large enough for two. There was free tea, toothbrushes, a hairdryer, and shampoo etc in the bathroom, and slippers for us. The bedding was very warm and the bed was comfortable. The cabin host was very helpful and flexible with our check-in time.

The cabin I stayed in was fairly large, I think it's meant for 4-5 people. It was raining most of the time I was there, so I couldn't take advantage of the porch or BBQ. The cafe is excellent - do try the local fish!
